Coronation Street’s Eva to face family heartbreak as another new character arrives
Eva Price’s fresh start on Coronation Street with her new family is dealt a blow next week, when Ben Driscoll’s son Will drops a big bombshell. The teen gives his parents cause for concern when he goes missing, and when he finally turns up, he reveals that he doesn’t want to move to Weatherfield – but why?
Show bosses have cast Lucas Hodgson-Wale in the role of Will, who arrives in Weatherfield a few days after the rest of his family. Fans saw the Driscolls take over the Rovers Return in last night’s episode.
“Running The Rovers is a dream come true for Eva,” begins our Corrie insider. “Even Maggie’s sniping can’t burst her bubble! With Ben’s youngest Will on his way to join them, their family is complete. But Will’s bringing the drama with him.”
Ready to welcome sports-mad Will to the Driscolls’ new dwelling, Eva and Ben are confused when Ollie enters the pub on his own, having gone to the station to collect him from his school trip.

Ollie explains that his little brother was a no-show, and he’s not answering his phone. Maggie can’t help stirring it, reminding everyone that her grandson never wanted to leave their old hometown of Hull.
Worried for his offspring’s welfare, Ben heads to Hull in case Will is hiding out at a mate’s place. If he’s not, then it’s time to panic…
Following a fruitless search, Ben returns and calls the police to report the schoolboy missing. As officers enter The Rovers to be filled in on the details of Will’s disappearance, somebody secretly observes from afar…
“From his hiding place across the road, Will watches the police arrive,” our source continues. “Lily passes by, and is bemused when this stranger offers her 20 quid to get something from the pub for him. Who is this kid, and why all the secrecy?”

When Lily returns, she has Ben and Eva with her. Suspicious after Will asked her to grab his passport, concerned Lily has blown his cover. It later emerges that Will’s athletics coach Megan found him sleeping rough in his old sports facility changing room in Hull and drove him to Weatherfield.
After a telling-off from his parents, unremorseful Will admits that he hates the idea of leaving their old place and wanted to get as far away from the family as possible.
But when Ben later finds a love letter hidden in his son’s things, he wonders if a romance back in Hull is the real reason Will wishes he was still there…

Reluctantly enrolled in Weatherfield High, Will sets off for his first day and makes a friend in Liam Connor. It’s clear the delinquent is going to be a bad influence on Maria’s lad, as Will encourages his new pal to skive off lessons with him.
“Will sneaks some beers for him and Liam,” our insider reveals. “As they knock them back, Will brags about his girlfriend and how serious they are. Then Maggie catches the boys drinking and all hell breaks loose.”
Is Will set to lead Liam astray? And why is he being so cagey about his secret girlfriend?
