Coronation Street reveals Theo’s disturbing new way to control Todd
Coronation Street has aired a concerning development for Todd Grimshaw, as Theo Silverton spotted another opportunity to assert his control. With Todd now financially dependent on the villain, will he ever escape the abusive relationship?
In tonight’s episode, Theo brazenly opened a letter addressed to his fiancĂ© and was shocked to discover Todd’s mounting credit card debt. Embarrassed Todd assured him he was sorting out the repayments, but Theo continued to grill him until he apologised.

Surprisingly, Theo remained calm and said he would do what he could to help ease the debt. However, he soon revealed his latest manipulation tactic by suggesting they set up a “joint account” to “keep track” of their spending.
“It’ll be just like when we’re married, eh? One pot for all,” he added, with Todd hesitantly agreeing.
Later, Todd returned to the flat with some steaks for dinner, but Theo reminded him that they were trying to be “more frugal”. Red-faced Todd was forced to apologise again, but the scaffolder continued his charm offensive.
“I have been thinking of a way we could curb our spending,” he offered. “There’s this argument that when you pay with cash, you spend less because you don’t wanna have none in your hand or your pocket.
“But when you pay with card, you don’t see it or feel it, so it’s just tap, tap, tap, tap, tap and then it’s all gone.”
When Todd agreed with the premise, Theo insisted they both “get rid” of their cards. But after handing his over, he was horrified to see the villain immediately cutting them in half.
Theo then took things one step further by demanding Todd’s online banking details, which he said he would “take control of” until they set up the joint account.
“Don’t worry. If you need anything, just ask,” Theo said, handing him a ten pound note, before embracing a visibly concerned Todd.
Upcoming episodes will see Todd struggling to manage his meagre pocket money as Theo continues to withhold his cash. Will Todd confide in anyone else, or has Theo trapped him in the relationship with no means of escape?
