Coronation Street reveals Jodie’s shocking new manipulation tonight

Coronation Street newcomer Jodie Ramsey resorts to shocking lengths to manipulate her sister Shona Platt tonight. The siblings are brought closer together after an emotional heart-to-heart, but it’s all based on total lies.

Thursday’s episode sees the pressure increase on Jodie, who’s keeping very quiet about the mysterious ordeal she went through before she moved to Weatherfield. The enigmatic new arrival first appeared in the soap crossover special Corriedale at the start of the month, which showed her being held captive in a van driven by Emmerdale’s Graham Foster.

Coronation Street reveals Jodie's shocking new manipulation tonight

Jodie has managed to prevent Shona from finding out the exact details of how she ended up in the Corriedale crash. However, her luck threatens to run out tonight when Shona realises that Jodie already knows police detective Kit Green.

Kit tells Shona about the terrible state Jodie was in on the night of the multi-vehicle pile-up. He recalls how Jodie’s wrists were bound and she was clearly terrified, as she seemed to be running away from someone.

Meanwhile, Jodie visits a domestic violence support group at the community centre and listens intently as a woman called Ellie describes her frightening experiences with an abusive partner.

Back on the cobbles later, Bethany Platt is forced to intervene in Jodie’s troubles after she has a meltdown at No.8.

Shona rushes to support her troubled sibling, who finally agrees to open up over everything she’s been through. But as you’d expect following Jodie’s strange behaviour recently, there’s a twist to the tale…

Jodie recounts Ellie’s ordeal almost word-for-word, falsely making these out to be her own traumatic experiences with an abusive partner.

She claims that this is what she’s been running away from – and Shona is left more determined than ever to support her younger sister. But why is Jodie lying? And could the truth soon be exposed when Shona decides to track down their father for some answers?

Coronation Street’s producer Kate Brooks recently explained: “[Jodie] may have ulterior motives!

“We’ll find out exactly why she was in that van. We’ll find out what her link to Graham is. From my time when I worked at Emmerdale, Graham was a character with a murky past who was capable of many things. For Jodie to be embroiled with somebody of that ilk sheds a light on what kind of character she is and what to expect.

“We will absolutely reveal what went on between them and what Graham’s role was in it all. Keep a lookout for it, because it’s a story that goes on to be really big as we get into spring and summer. There’s a lot of drama for the Platts coming up!”
