#ChicagoFire star Hanako Greensmith is opening up about Violet’s various love interests and which one was The One.
Violet has had many memorable love interests on Chicago Fire over the seasons, and her portrayer Hanako Greensmith has some strong feelings about which fella was best suited for the paramedic.
On the most recent episode of the One Chicago podcast, Greensmith (and her castmate Jocelyn Hudon, aka Lizzie Novak) were asked to
name their favorite love interests. Although Greensmith was initially introduced on the show as a rival/love interest for firefighter Blake

Gallo (Alberto Rosende), fans later came to root for Violet and firefighter Sam Carver (Jake Lockett) to make it work. But according to Greensmith, “I don’t think Carver was realistically good for her.”
The pair had a tumultuous on-and-off relationship and could never seem to get on the same page at the same time. Violet pushed Carver

away, and then when he went away to rehab, she realized the extent of her feelings for him. But when he returned to Firehouse 51, he had reconciled with an ex-girlfriend from back home. Eventually, Carver and Violet did confess their feelings for one another, but he still chose

to transfer to the Denver Fire Department to get away from his demons. Rather than trying a long-distance relationship, Violet and Carver agreed to give each other space so they could both move on.

So if Carver wasn’t The One, it’s needless to say that Greensmith isn’t on board with Flynn (Steven Strait), the lawyer Violet began dating after Carver’s return who pressured her to go to med school. “I don’t think Flynn was right for her,” Greensmith says, and given their messy breakup, we’re inclined to agree. “Just like with life, you find what you find, and see what works and what doesn’t,” the actress adds.
Tragically, the perfect guy for Violet is the one she can never be with. “I think the Prince Charming of it all… Hawkins [played by Jimmy Nicholas] was a great one,” Greensmith shares. Following the Paramedic Field Chief’s heroic and untimely death, “I think it’s just been really hard for her to find anyone that will match the almost Disney essence of who he was.”
This season, Violet is enjoying being single, and she’s “not looking to fall in love. But sometimes that’s exactly when it happens!” showrunner Andrea Newman teased to Soaps.com. After witnessing Violet and firefighter Sal Vasquez’s ride-along on ambo and their subsequent bonding at Molly’s during this week’s episode, it certainly seems like romance may have found Violet once again.
