Chicago Med Shocker! [Spoiler] Is Attacked in Fall Finale — Plus, Archer Finds Himself in New Love Triangle

Chicago Med fans are in for a long and torturous wait following this Wednesday’s fall finale, which featured a romantic declaration, a new love interest for one doc and a super dangerous cliffhanger. Read on as we review the episode’s biggest moments.

Fire’s Novak returned to Med this week to continue flirting with Dr. John Frost, who asked the paramedic for her phone number. She

requested a pen (very old school!), then wrote her digits on his arm: 9-1-1. “Didn’t think it would be that easy, did you?” she added with a smile. Naomi later spotted the number on John’s arm, and he tried to brush it off with a joke about how he has trouble remembering the number, but then nurse Kacy spilled the beans about Novak and how “adorkable” their exchange was. (Someone really needs to tell the nurse to take it down about 10 notches, especially with comments like this: “You ever decide to make that triangle a square, give me a call.”)

Hannah asked Naomi if she ever talked to John, and she replied that she didn’t, and he and Novak are circling each other now. But that was a big “so what?” in Hannah’s opinion. She encouraged Naomi to make a move, anyway. So Naomi confessed to John that she should have

said yes when he asked her out and that she’s had feelings for him for a long time, but she has a tendency to get in her own way with rules. They missed their window, and she’s fine with that, she added. Plus, Novak is “pretty damn great,” Naomi acknowledged. A surprised John asked why she was telling him this now. “Because I needed to,” she answered, before walking away.

Jeremy, the cancer patient from earlier this season, returned to the ED with his pregnant wife, and his outlook was dire. To give him enough time to meet his baby, Jeremy opted for a risky surgery, which brought up all sorts of feelings for his doctor, Dean Archer. Mid-procedure, oncologist Dr. Jennifer Kingston asked Archer if he has kids (a son, he answered) and if he’s single (yes). She’s single, too, she said pointedly. So it looks like we have ourselves a new potential love triangle between Archer, Jennifer and his baby mama Hannah. It should also be noted that Archer did not mention to Jennifer that he’s expecting a child with Hannah. Hmm… But he did tell his son Sean about the baby, and Sean responded with laughter until he realized his dad was being serious. Ultimately, Sean was happy for him.

When Hannah shared that she’s having trouble sleeping (because she’s having nightmares about something going wrong with the pregnancy), Dr. Charles admitted that he also hasn’t been getting enough rest. Any concerns about his health only got more worrisome after he and psych researcher Dr. Theo Rabari butted heads over a patient. When it turned out that Dr. Charles was in the wrong, he apologized to Theo and confessed that something is going on with him that is affecting his judgment. Dr. Charles suggested that maybe the two of them are a team, and the slight zoom-in on Theo as he agreed was suspicious, right?

Abusive husband Devin was back in the ED, but sans his wife Faye this time, which raised red flags for Dr. Lenox. She tried calling Faye, but Devin had his wife’s phone, so Lenox made the trip to Devin and Faye’s home while Ripley tried to keep Devin preoccupied in the ED. When Lenox arrived, she found a bloodied and beaten Faye in the basement. With no phone reception, Lenox made her way back upstairs… only to get knocked out by Devin.
