Coronation Street fans think they have spotted part of Carla Connor’s ‘plan’ to expose Becky Swain once and for all, despite making a sad move.

Those who have been following the ITV soap know that the Underworld factory boss has felt pushed to the side by her fiancee, Lisa Swain, following the return of the detective sergeant’s former partner, Becky.

She came back from the dead in September, almost four years after Lisa and their daughter, Betsy, were led to believe she had been killed in the line of duty, and it was already revealed that Lisa’s boss, DI Costello, was involved in faking her death.

Becky has since been getting in between Lisa and Carla, with a clear intention to get her family back together – whatever it takes – and she’s already succeeded in splitting them up, with viewers witnessing emotional scenes as Carla called time on her and Lisa’s relationship.

However, having initially moved out of their home, No.6 Coronation Street, which they only moved into in September before getting engaged, Carla returned as she began working with Lisa’s colleague, DC Kit Green, to try and get to the bottom of what Becky and Costello have been hiding for all this time.

However, Costello now being in hospital having been subject to a brutal attack, which is now making things more difficult and ramping up the pressure for Carla, Kit and Becky.

During Wednesday’s (December 10) episode, Carla was seen trying to get one over on Becky, pretending to be drunk and recording their conversation, in which she smugly revealed that she intended to win Lisa back, whatever it took, and that she’d got her way.

When Carla returned to No.6, Becky was quick to protest Carla was drunk, but she confirmed she was completely sober and that she’d just pretended in order to record Becky’s confession. However, it appeared Lisa didn’t really want to listen, feeling like a pawn in Becky and Carla’s game.

With Lisa having walked out, quickly followed by Betsy, Carla was left alone Becky and told her she wouldn’t give up. “You think you’re so clever, don’t you?” she scowled. “But I’ve got to warn you, I’m a stubborn cow, I’m gonna find out what you are and just what you’ve been up to,” Carla added.

Setting her plan into motion, Carla made a visit of her own to Costello, where he woke up and confirmed Becky was behind his attack, and gave her the words ‘Rhubarb Hill’, seemingly a clue to what she and Kit are trying to expose.

In Friday’s (December 12) episode, Calra confided in Betsy that she still loved Lisa and wanted to be there for her. Later, she told Lisa she wanted them to be together but, she told Carla there was no coming back from what they’d been through in recent weeks. Carla tried to protest, but Lisa had made her mind up, and she later told Betsy that she couldn’t continue having the same argument with Carla, so they needed to call it quits.

Heartbroken, Carla took off her engagement ring and decided to still head on the trip she had booked to Lanzarote as a surprise for Lisa and Betsy. She paid Costello another visit before heading to the airpor, and when Lisa changed her mind about them being apart, it was too late as Carla wasn’t answering her phone.

Corrie fans know that Carla is set to go AWOL, with her social media accounts suggesting she’s living it up in Spain, while other clues suggest something more sinister is going on and that’s she not left for her holiday at all.

And it’s Carla taking off her engagement ring that fans think will end up being a clue to help Lisa solve Carla’s whereabouts in the coming weeks, which they hope will expose Becky for the villain that she is.
