Budig states, “The heart wants what the heart wants.” However, the actress is well-aware this equation is wrong in every way. She explains, “There are various reasons why it’s wrong. He’s married, he’s married to Sheila, he’s her patient, Steffy would be devastated if they were together.”

The 52-year-old further added, “There’s just a lot going against them. “And although Taylor knows all of this, she’s still really drawn to him and feels there’s something that happens when they’re together.” Budig shares how her character “feels seen and heard — and in a way that she hasn’t before.” Nevertheless, she likes how Taylor and Deacon are honest with one another. “I like that they’re like two adults that they’re talking about the elephant in the room, which is that they have feelings for each other, and it’s not a normal situation,” the actress said.

Moreover, the biggest fear is regarding Sheila finding out about the romance as she won’t spare Taylor’s life. Budig shares, “It’s hard for Taylor to see him with Sheila.” This is “because she feels so much for him.” However, “she wants the best for him at the end of the day, ultimately, whether that’s with her or someone else. So I don’t think Taylor wants to break up their marriage necessarily.”
