One Chicago Crossover Recap -- Severide and Stella's Future on 'Fire'

The fact that Stella and Severide have already agreed to spend less time away from one another in Chicago Fire season 13 means that this latest development is bound to cause a lot of anguish for them both. They have already discussed getting out of town, with Severide wanting to wait for a better time. His quote to his wife, “Let’s get the hell out of here,” suggests he’s come around to her way of thinking. Indeed, Stella’s near-death experience could lead both to reconsider what they want from their careers and their relationship, and decide to put themselves first.

The fallout from the episode could have long-lasting repercussions for both characters and may deepen their desire not to want to be separated again. There is a good chance this could lead to them re-evaluating putting themselves in dangerous situations. How this impacts the couple moving forward is unclear, but it could prompt either, or both, to consider some sort of career change. One thing is certain, the pair are not going to want to spend much time apart for the foreseeable future, and this is bound to inform future Chicago Fire storylines.
