As #YR’s Cane turns Genoa City upside down, the whole town is forgetting the secret weapon it could be aiming at him. We haven’t, though. Missing Persons Alert: Forgotten Young & Restless Character Holds the Key to Cane’s Undoing
Since The Young and the Restless brought back Cane Ashby years younger and lots less Australian than he used to be, all of Genoa City has
been doing back flips trying to figure out how to handle the loose cannon that’s been aimed at them and their umpteen corporations. But
the answer has been right under their noses the whole time. Maybe they’ve forgotten, but viewers certainly remember, Cane has another child besides Mattie and Charlie: Sam.

You’ll recall that Cane’s extramarital hookup with ill-fated Juliet Helton led to Sam’s birth. Where is he now? Who knows? Cane hasn’t said bupkis about him since he’s been back, and nobody’s asked. Yet he could be the key to neutralizing the threat that the erstwhile Aristotle Dumas poses to all of Genoa City’s precious, precious companies.
Technically, Sam would only be turning 8 next month. But a little Soap-Opera Rapid-Aging Syndrome could transform him into a fiery teenager who comes to town to ask his dad one simple question: “Dude, you’re already rich as hell. Why can’t you just be… nice?”
Imagine if Sam simply told it like it is, going, “Dad, do you think this BS with the fake name and constant attempts to steal everyone’s company is going to win you any points with Lily? I’ve been on, like, two dates in my whole life, and even I know that’s not the way to impress a girl.”
