As Holly Shuts Tate Down, Johnny and Chanel Are Confident They’ll Get Tesoro — But Sophia May Have Other Ideas

Tate drops in at home, surprising both Brady and Marlena, to check in on Rachel. He knows what it’s like to have a mom in prison. (Brady

certainly has a type…) But after grandma leaves, he admits he’s really there to ask his dad’s advice about Sophia and the baby. Well, and Holly.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Chanel and Johnny Want to Have a Baby

Tate tells his dad about his fight with Holly and how he tried using it to get info from Sophia — by playing on her feelings for him. And shoving a kiss on her. Brady calls his son out for being horrible to both Sophia and Holly, no matter how desperate he is.

So calm down, don’t cheat on Holly and let Brady and Steve handle this. Also, he literally just started college, so maybe focus on that. But Brady ends it by thanking Tate for coming to him.

Rafe brings Tesoro in for his twelve-week checkup with Sarah. Baby T’s doing great and the two coo over how adorable he is. Rafe’s already getting choked up at the thought of giving him up, though he knows they’ve both been there/done that with babies before.

Marlena then arrives for her checkup and Sarah brings up Rachel’s most recent misadventures. They’re both sympathetic to what she’s going through, missing her mom. Sarah admits that being with Rachel brings up “lots of emotions,” but she loves her.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Tate Kisses Sophia to Learn the Truth

Sarah goes over the latest blood tests, which revealed absolutely nothing once again. Sarah’s out of ideas and feels like she failed Marlena. Pish posh, Marlena insists she’s done nothing wrong and she’s feeling better anyway. And that’s when Sarah, in turn, thanks her for working with Xander. In fact, they may even have a chance at getting back together! Marlena offers to work with the two of them as a couple.

Sarah’s doubtful Xander would agree, but Marlena convinces her that it might be worth at least bringing up. Xander very much values their marriage.

Johnny laments to Chanel that he couldn’t make it to the One Stormy Night press conference Tony hijacked. She assures him he’s the least of Titan’s worries. And that’s when Johnny panics and realizes the merger will probably go bottom-up and he’ll lose his job.

He doesn’t want to rely on his trust fund. Or have losing his job affect their adoption prospects. Please, between your mother-in-law, and being stupidly wealthy, you’ll be fine, Johnny. Chanel points that out, though she’s nicer about it, and says his job teaching his passion is a huge plus.

In the end, they’re both feeling great about their odds of getting Tesoro. Which, in the soap world, is a bad sign. After some more pep talk, Johnny leaves for his coffee date with Grandpa Roman, while Chanel gets ready for her meeting with Paulina.

Are Holly and Tate Through?
Holly finds Ari in the pub applying for her internship when Sophia wanders in (with a whole new look that just screams “schemer”) and Ari shuts up fast. When Holly sees why, she rushes off to the bathroom and Sophia demands to know if Ari mentioned anything about her being in Tate’s room.

But Holly comes back just in time to hear Ari say something about her and Tate hooking up. Sophia acts apologetic as she drops just enough bombshells about the night before to send Holly into a panic, then leaves.

Ari apologizes for not telling Holly about what she saw the night before. She didn’t want to upset her. Tate shows up just then asking to talk and gets punched in the nose by Holly. (The extras’ reactions are fantastic And you can see what Leo Howard and Ashley Puzemis had to say about the punch here!) Holly starts yelling before a confused Tate can get a word in, tells him they’re over for good and storms out.
