That evening, Cassie and Fizz meet outside the gig venue to “talk things through.” But emotions flare when old accusations resurface about Tyrone’s accident. In the heat of the argument, Cassie stumbles into the road just as a car speeds past. Fizz screams for help, but by the time paramedics arrive, Cassie is unresponsive. She’s pronounced dead at the scene.

Back in Weatherfield, news of Cassie’s death spreads quickly. Steve is inconsolable, blaming himself for not going with her, while Ken is heartbroken that yet another tragedy has struck his family home. But the worst is yet to come. Overcome with guilt and fear that her deceit indirectly caused the disaster, Tracy Barlow suffers a sudden heart attack later that night. Despite the medics’ efforts, she passes away in hospital — leaving viewers reeling from the double loss.

The fallout devastates everyone. Fizz breaks down, unable to process what happened. Steve lashes out at anyone who mentions Tracy’s name, while Ken silently weeps at his dining table, clutching a photograph of his daughter. The once-noisy Barlow household falls into heartbreaking silence.
