Kurt Russell is officially entering the Yellowstone universe. While his casting was already heavily speculated, it’s now confirmed that Russell is joining the cast of spinoff series The Madison.

Specific details about Russell’s character have not been announced, but sources tell Variety that he will likely play the husband of Michelle Pfeiffer’s Stacy Clyburn, a wealthy Manhattanite who heads to Big Sky Country in the wake of a family tragedy.

 

 

The Madison, which is set in the present day, will be “a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana,” per the official logline.

Along with Russell and Pfeiffer, additional cast members of The Madison include Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Matthew Fox, Beau Garrett, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova and Kevin Zegers.

* Jane Krakowski (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) will guest-star in an upcoming episode of NBC‘s Brilliant Minds, playing Arianna Burnett, a “high-powered businesswoman who fights her conservatorship despite her family’s growing concerns,” TVLine has learned. She will appear in the fourth episode of the medical drama’s sophomore season, which premieres Monday, Sept. 22 (10/9c).

 

 

Jimmy Tatro (Home Economics) and Fortune Feimster (The Mindy Project) have joined the cast of Will Ferrell’s untitled golf series for Netflix, TVLine has learned. Tatro will play Lance, the son of Ferrell’s character “and an incredible pro golfter in his own right,” while Feimster will portray Sam, a new caddie and “possible good luck charm.”

* Fox’s upcoming drama series Best Medicine, which stars Josh Charles (The Good Wife) as a big-city surgeon who opens a small practice in a quaint fishing village, has added eight recurring cast members, TVLine has learned: Didi Conn (Grease) as Councilwoman Geneva Potter, Clea Lewis (Royal Pains) as pharmacist Sally Mylow, Stephen Spinella (24) as The Salty Breeze co-owner Greg Garrison, Jason Veasey (Only Murders in the Building) as Greg’s husband George Brady, John DiMaggio (Futurama) as handyman Burt Large, Carter Shimp (Mayfair Witches) as Burt’s son Al Large and Cindy De La Cruz (Blue Bloods) as schoolteacher Jeannine.
