Home and Away SPOILERS: Lacey’s Trap — Will She Expose Councillor Craig Wendell?

In next week’s Home and Away episodes, Lacey Miller sets a daring plan in motion, determined to uncover the truth about Councillor Craig Wendell—the man she suspects of being behind the crash that killed her mother, Christina. For Lacey, the stakes couldn’t be higher, and her obsession with justice threatens to put her and those closest to her in danger.

The tragedy has haunted the Miller family for years. Lacey’s sister Joe was driving the car the night of the fatal crash, but her memory of the event was clouded by trauma. Only recently, through hypnotherapy, Joe recalled a crucial detail: another vehicle, a grey Mercedes, had forced them off the road. Her father, David, traced fragments of the number plate back to Councillor Wendell, who had been spotted in the area on the very same afternoon in 2023.

When David summoned Wendell to Yabbie Creek Police Station for questioning, the councillor calmly denied everything. Shielded by political power and legal counsel, Wendell refused to cooperate, and before long David was warned to abandon the case altogether. A formal complaint was lodged against him, accusing him of bias. With Joe’s hypnotherapy memories inadmissible as evidence, the investigation was left at a dead end.

But Joe and Lacey were not ready to let go. Joe’s conviction deepened when she saw Wendell at the station and felt certain he recognised her from the night of the crash. Together, the sisters uncovered unsettling clues: Lacey snapped photos of her father’s private notes, while Joe discovered Wendell’s signature in the condolence book at their mother’s funeral. To them, these weren’t coincidences—they were proof that Wendell was guilty.

David, however, pleaded with them to stay out of it, warning that Wendell’s influence made him dangerous. Joe reluctantly agreed, but Lacey refused to back down. She began tailing Wendell outside his home and even phoned him with threats of going to the press. Her behaviour only grew more reckless.

Next week, Lacey escalates her pursuit. Rather than attending Cash and Eden’s much-anticipated wedding with her boyfriend Theo, she throws herself into setting a trap for Wendell. Actress Sophia Pennington explains: “She isn’t out for revenge. What Lacey really wants is closure—justice for her mother and a reason for why this all happened.”

When Lacey pressures Theo to skip the wedding and help her with her dangerous plan, tensions flare. His willingness to stand by her sparks fury from Leah and Justin, who are tired of watching him drop everything at her command.

Later, police respond to the chilling aftermath. David is seen at the scene, blocking Leah from witnessing a body bag being loaded into a private ambulance.

Fan speculation is running wild. Could Theo be the victim of the shocking wedding-week death? Actor Matt Evans, who plays Theo, has been absent from Palm Beach filming for months, fuelling rumours. If Theo’s loyalty to Lacey leads him into her reckless trap, could it ultimately cost him his life?
