1923’s Brandon Sklenar reveals which items he stole from set
The actor plays Spencer Dutton on the Yellowstone prequel series, in which he stars opposite Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.
The series focuses on Yellowstone character John Dutton’s ancestors, following them as they fight to keep their land during the Prohibition era and the Great Depression in 1920s Montana.
Following the show’s conclusion earlier this year after two seasons, Sklenar has revealed which of his character’s belongings he stole from set before filming wrapped.
“I have his hat. I have his passport, which is very cool. It’s like very real, like a 1920s passport,” he share during an interview with People.
“And I have some bullet shells, some casings from World War I. I got some patches from his uniform. I got a little Spencer Dutton collection for sure.”

The actor added that he’s “still sort of processing” that 1923 has ended after spending nearly three years in Spencer’s world.
“Between the first season and the second season, it was two years. So it was a lot of hurry up and wait and wondering when we’re going to go and sort of having it always in the back of your mind,” he said.

“That character became such a part of me, and it will be for the rest of my life. And I just miss playing in that world because it’s just such a cool world to play in and those themes and getting to be a cowboy and also a World War I veteran, and a hunter and a fighter, and someone who just does it all for the love of their family and their wife. It’s just the most epic character.”

In other news, Sklenar recently landed his next role in upcoming western movie The Rescue, which is expected to begin filming this summer with Old Henry director Potsy Ponciroli at the helm.
The film is described as “a modern day western, in which a rodeo cowboy’s skills are put to the test outside the arena”. Further plot details remain under wraps for the time being.
