In Our Hearts Forever: Soaps’ Salute to the Daytime Greats We’ve Lost in 2025
The loss of anyone leaves a permanent hole in our hearts, one that always remains just for them and their memories. At various times during each year, we pay tribute to the fallen soap stars as a way to not only keep their memories alive but to look back on the roles they cemented in daytime.

As the new year emerged, it was nearly two weeks into January when news of Leslie Charleson’s passing came. The General Hospital legend played Monica Quartermaine for over 45 years. Many others followed, such as All My Children’s Michelle Trachtenberg (Lily Montgomery), The Young and the Restless Emmy Award winner James Houghton (Greg Foster), as well as Wings Hauser, father to Yellowstone’s Cole Hauser, who also appeared in the same Genoa City role in the 1970s.

Right before spring, another Port Charles fave, Denise Alexander (Lesley Williams) passed on, as did One Life to Live’s Mark Dobies (Daniel Colson). And prior to summer, we said goodbye to Young & Restless’ Pamela Peters Solow (Peggy Brooks) and The Bold and the Beautiful’s Chris Robinson (Jack Hamilton).

Another World heartthrob Julian McMahon (Ian Rain) died in July following a private battle with cancer and almost two weeks later, As the World Turns legend Eileen Fulton (Lisa Grimaldi) passed away at 91. Then on August 15, tears continued to flow when news that Tristan Rogers had lost his battle with cancer and General Hospital fans, as well as the actor’s daytime family, grieved hard. However, just 11 days later, viewers were able to see the icon one last time, as Rogers had taped an episode to reprise his Young & Restless role and appeared as Colin Atkinson.

So many stars came out to pay tribute to the actor and Kimberly McCullough, who played the daughter of Rogers’ Robert Scorpio for many years, took to her official Instagram to post “so many Robert memories to remember…”And while we know more losses will come, for now we take comfort in all of the memories that the fallen stars left on daytime television.
