An Emmerdale legend could be killed off in a shock John Sugden twist, and it’s not Mackenzie Boyd or Aaron Dingle.

In recent scenes on the ITV soap, John (Oliver Farnworth) attacked Mack (Lawrence Robb) after he uncovered the truth behind Nate Robinson’s (Jurell Carter) murder.

 

 

The villain notably killed Nate after the barn fire last year, before framing Owen Michaels (Simon Haines) for the crime.

Mack was thought to have been John’s next murder victim after he was shot through the chest, before John ominously held a large rock over him.

However, it was soon revealed that John had been keeping Mack captive in an underground bunker on the grounds of his childhood home, where he’s currently staying with his husband, Aaron (Danny Miller).

 

 

The situation took an even darker turn when John learned that Aaron had previously slept with his brother, Robert (Ryan Hawley), who also happens to be Aaron’s ex-husband.

To get his revenge, John secretly spiked a bottle of whiskey and encouraged Aaron to drink some.

While John went to stop Mack from escaping the bunker, Aaron drank more of the tainted alcohol, which led to him having a seizure in the woods.

Elsewhere, John spoke to Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) on the mental health helpline, and after a worrying conversation, Paddy connected the dots and soon realised who he was speaking to.

During Friday’s (September 5) episode, John continued to display his dominance over a bed bound Aaron.

Back in the village, Paddy shared his concerns with Robert, saying: “This is incredibly sensitive and you have to understand, I’m in a difficult position.”

He added: “I’m concerned that [John] might harm himself. He found out you and Aaron slept together and it’s hardly surprising is it? Can you get Victoria to ring him and don’t breathe a word of this to anyone.”

Robert later reached out to his sister, Victoria (Isabel Hodgins), who refused to give him the cottage’s address as she thought he was meddling in John and Aaron’s relationship.

Later, as John took a shower, Aaron unexpectedly stumbled upon Mack’s phone in his bedroom. Will he be able to find Mack?

Now, several Emmerdale fans are worried for Paddy’s safety, with many believing that he could become John’s latest victim.

“OMG!! If Emmerdale do a Paddy redemption arc in this SL and actually have him on team #Robron, it might officially be too much joy for me to handle!” one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Another added: “I hope John doesn’t hurt Paddy now he knows he was talking to him,” while a third said: “Paddy going to Robert for help about John was NOT on my bingo card. They better not hurt him.”
