The discovery of Cohen’s father has shaken the Stewart household. For Roo, who had already started the adoption process after Cohen’s mother Samantha relinquished her parental rights during her arrest, the revelation comes as a crushing blow. She had envisioned Cohen as her son in every sense, only for fate to intervene at the last moment.

The truth surfaced when Sergeant David revisited an old case file and found that Samantha’s former boyfriend, Adrian, had once posted bail for her while she was pregnant with Cohen. Summoned to Yabbie Creek police station, Adrian explained that he had always believed Cohen was his child, though Samantha had abandoned him when Cohen was just three months old. A DNA test confirmed his claim, officially making him Cohen’s father.

Cohen’s initial excitement at meeting Adrian was obvious.
