Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates tease there is a massive and unexpected blackout ahead for Salem this week! But is it really due to electrical issues or a problem in the grid, or is a dark force behind it?

Viewers will remember several weeks back, when Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) came to Salem in response to EJ DiMera (Dan Feurreriegel) being shot; and she also talked to Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall).

 

 

She sensed a darkness afflicting Marlena, right around the time Marlena started having nightmares about being Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) queen of the night!

Of course, grief for the loss of John Black (Drake Hogestyn) was affecting Marlena, and most likely it was affecting Susan as well, but Susan experienced a psychic warning.

Even though everyone in Salem is fairly certain that Stefano is really dead-dead this time around, Susan sensed his fearful and evil presence, especially around Marlena!

Although perhaps this time the Devil won’t come to Salem and try to possess Marlena, if Stefano’s around as a spirit or ghost, it would be almost as bad!

 

 

Then there was that conversation between Kat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) about ISA related business-Shane Donovan (Charles Shaughnessy) had reactivated her for this particular mission.

Somehow, the subject of Stefano came up, and Rafe told her everything he knew and how he’d risen from the dead not once, but several times.

One thing he told her, is they don’t call Stefano the Phoenix for nothing—and there have been some intelligence whispers in the ISA that he’s actually still alive!

The DiMeras may pooh-pooh it, but the last time “Stefano” rose, he was an AI chip implanted in Steve Johnson’s (Stephen Nichols) brain-and Tony and Chad DiMera (Thaao Penghlis, Billy Flynn) burned it.

But how do they know that Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) didn’t have a duplicate somewhere-shortly after, he became involved in Megan Hathaway DiMera’s (Miranda Wilson) schemes!

A Darkness Comes Over Salem, And Marlena Passes Out!
Soon a darkness will come over Salem, with people trapped, and it’s called a blackout-but then Marlena passes out-the last time that happened the devil took over!

At the same time, a mysterious free clinic-according to EJ-is in the plans to be built-Cat saw the blueprints. Might that “free clinic” really be a front for Dr. Rolf, and perhaps even Megan to work on secret projects?

Are electrical issues really at play in Salem, or is the darkness really a dark force-perhaps it’s Stefano’s spirit who’s the “devil” behind the details this time? More importantly, instead of the devil possessing Marlena, might it really be Stefano?
