After Kevin Costner’s shocking Yellowstone exit, the legendary actor has addressed the future of his career. Costner’s decision to exit the

show famously led to his Yellowstone character being murdered off-screen. After leaving that series, Costner has been starring in his passion project, the Horizon: An American Saga epic movie series, with two more films to come.

 

 

Easily one of the biggest movie stars of his generation, Costner has starred in several fantastic films. After headlining Yellowstone and playing a pivotal role in that show’s mammoth success, the actor is also now a proven TV star. Since he is a big enough deal to headline several hit shows or movies in the future, many observers want to know where Costner’s career will go now.

While talking to Radio Times, the legendary actor stated that he will only be working on stories that he cares about and is willing to “move on” from projects. He mentions that although he has been headlining Western shows and movies, his career doesn’t have to be limited to that genre. Costner does not name Yellowstone, but the comments appear to be in reference to the show.

 

 

On top of discussing his plans to make shows and films he cares about, Costner also spoke about his perspective on storytelling. The actor explained to the outlet that he believes that having an impact on viewers is what matters.

Finally, Costner told Radio Times that he hopes that making movies and shows he cares about going forward will make his work matter.

When it was revealed that Costner was leaving Yellowstone before the show ended, many observers were shocked. After all, there is no doubt that most Hollywood stars wouldn’t leave a hit show midstream. Despite that, based on what Costner told Radio Times, it seems clear that the actor will be willing to leave other projects in the future if he doesn’t have faith in their merit.

For moviegoers and TV fanatics alike, that means that they can assume that Costner’s future projects will all matter to him. That doesn’t necessarily mean that all the actor’s future movies or shows will be great. I believe that Kevin Costner deserves a great deal of success for pledging his efforts to crafting stories that matter.
