Chicago Fire Cast: Other Roles You’ve Seen the Actors Play
Chicago Fire has been on the air for 11 years now, and it still keeps attracting new fans with each and every season. This drama TV series
was created by Michael Brandt and Derek Haas for NBC, and premiered in October 2012. Throughout its episodes, it explores the personal
lives of the firefighters and paramedics of the Chicago Fire Department’s Firehouse 51, while allowing the audience to experience firsthand

their daily life-saving work. Chicago Fire has aired over 200 episodes, and is currently in its 11th season, with no news yet on a possible renewal.
Chicago Fire kicked off the Chicago franchise, also known as One Chicago, which focuses on the lives of Chicago’s public service workers. Said franchise features, so far, two additional productions: Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med, which have reached their tenth and eighth seasons, respectively. In 2017, One Chicago also launched Chicago Justice, but this production was canceled after a single season, becoming the first installment of the franchise to wrap up.

As is often the case with shows that have been on the air for so long, Chicago Fire has suffered a few departures and additions to its cast, leading to alterations in the characters’ storylines over the years. However, despite all these changes, the show is still very popular among the audience, as they follow each character’s journey as it unfolds. This is partly due to the outstanding performances of the actors, all of whom have extensive experience in the industry. Here are some other roles you’ve seen the actors of Chicago Fire play.
Throughout ten seasons of Chicago Fire, Jesse Spencer played Lieutenant Matthew Casey, who is also a recurring role in Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med. And while this is one of the actor’s best known roles, he has played other characters in TV series that have also made him very popular. The first one was Billy Kennedy in Neighbours, an Australian soap opera in which he starred from 1994 to 2000, reprising his role for a special and the show’s finale in 2022. His second major role was as Robert Chase in the series House, starring Hugh Laurie. Spencer was one of the few actors who starred in the series from its pilot to its finale. The actor also boasts a number of films in his portfolio, including Uptown Girls, Winning London and Swimming Upstream.
Taylor Kinney plays Lieutenant Kelly Severide in Chicago Fire and in all the other productions of the franchise. Still, this actor became well-known several years before this show because of his role as Mason Lockwood in the teen series The Vampire Diaries, as well as his starring role in the soap opera Fashion House. Additionally, he made guest appearances on series such as Shameless, Bones and CSI: NY. While his career features mostly TV projects, Kinney has been cast in several films over the years, including The Other Woman, The Forest and Here and Now, where he was cast alongside Sarah Jessica Parker, Simon Baker, Common, and Renée Zellweger, among other artists.
