Emmerdale star confirms emotional two-hander episode for show legends with 30-year friendship
Emmerdale star Dominic Brunt has confirmed an emotional two-hander episode focused on the decades-long friendship between Paddy and Marlon Dingle. The actor’s character is currently in a bind following his father Bear killing Ray Walters.
While Paddy is trying to cover it up, he is struggling with the stress of keeping the secret and deceiving the police, which has the potential to resurface his past mental health issues.

Dominic revealed to us that Paddy “definitely confides in Mandy” amid his struggles, before detailing plans for a special episode focused on him and Marlon.
“I think there’s an episode coming up with me and Mark [Charnock, who plays Marlon] just a two-hander, where we spill the beans to each other and we become bonded again.”
The star called it “lovely”, especially as “they’ve got a three-decade-long friendship”, adding: “That’ll be really great, I’m looking forward to that.”
Speaking further on Paddy’s mental health struggles, Dominic shared: “I think there’s a couple of lines later on where we just slip in and people say ‘where have you been?’ and he says ‘Oh, I’ve just been to Andy’s Man Club’.
“So that’s still very important to him as well and I agree, he does have to look after his own [mental health] but he’s not at the moment because he’s looking after everyone else.”
The actor went on to predict that when the storyline wraps his character will “probably just collapse and it’ll hit him then”.
“But at the moment he feels so guilty and kind of blames himself for what happened to his dad and feels very strongly that he has to put Dylan first and look after Dylan, because he’s got his life ahead of him,” he further noted.
