An EastEnders spokesperson said: “Jake returns in search of answers about what really happened at Christmas, but he gets more than he had bargained for when he learns a different version of events that leads him to question the woman he loves.

“With his conscience weighing heavy, and with multiple versions of events to contend with, only time will tell if Jake will do the right thing for not only himself, but for the sake of his family.”

Joel added: ““It was really lovely to step back onto the Square after all this time and revisit Jake. Being back working alongside familiar faces, as well as some brilliant new ones, was a real joy and it was good to know that Jake had been out there, alive and well.

“He returns carrying plenty of unanswered questions and the storyline takes him in some unexpected directions with real twists and turns. I’m excited for people to see what he’s been up to.”

Jake was last seen in September 2024 when he briefly returned to Albert Square with Chrissie after she was released from prison. Ravi is surprised to discover Mark Fowler Jr is the new contact and is rattled by his questions. Following the job, Ravi and his partner Priya Nandra-Hart are in his stationary car when their son Nugget has a seizure.

Meanwhile, Callum Highway is worried about Phil Mitchell as he feels the strain of his responsibilities with Nigel Bates and rallies the family to support him. Billy Mitchell asks his wife Honey to beg for her job back, but newcomer Bea insists she should stand firm and demand compensation. However, Suki Pansesar-Unwin won’t back down and fires them both. On Tuesday, February 10, Jake catches Kat and Vicki going through his stuff but is soon convinced to visit Alfie Moon. It’s an emotional moment as the cousins reunite and Jake agrees to stay the night.

Nugget is rushed to hospital where tests suggest he’s had an epileptic seizure. Ravi is devastated to think he may have caused Nugget to develop a lifelong condition and heads to drown his sorrows at Harry’s Barn.

During the night, he and Mark clash with a group of men, who’ve been hitting on Chelsea Fox. Mark is impressed when Ravi saves his skin and takes him into his confidence about his mission to find the informant in the gang, not knowing he’s with the informant.

Max offers to take Ollie and Annie Cater to help Linda out and soon realises that his grandson Louie Beale is the bully targeting Ollie. Trying to nip it in the bud by reprimanding Louie, Max decides to keep the truth from Linda. However, Elaine Peacock isn’t happy to see Max and her daughter Linda getting close and warns him off.

Bea lies to Vinny Panesar that the community is up in arms about the way the Panesars are treating Honey. Elsewhere, Lexi Mitchell is upset by a big life change.

Later, Linda gets a call to say Ollie has been hit at school as Max confronts Lauren Branning and Peter Beale about Louie’s behaviour. At first, they don’t believe him but when Max is proved right, Bea overhears him telling Lauren not to tell Linda. That night, Max and Linda get closer and she moves in for a kiss.
