Kayce Dutton’s story is far from over. After the events of Yellowstone, Kayce trades the family ranch for a badge, joining a special team of U.S. Marshals in Montana. Once a cowboy and Navy SEAL, now a lawman, he’s combining both skill sets to bring justice to the wild frontier. His son Tate, played by Brecken Merrill, joins him, with Mo (Mo Brings Plenty) and Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) returning from the Broken Rock reservation. The trailer promises sweeping action, psychological drama, and plenty of firepower, everything that made Yellowstone so addictive, just turned up a notch.

Grimes headlines a loaded cast that includes Logan Marshall-Green as Pete Calvin, Arielle Kebbel as Belle Skinner, Ash Santos as Andrea Cruz, and Tatanka Means as Miles Kittle. The series comes from Sheridan, David C. Glasser, and Spencer Hudnut, with Hudnut serving as showrunner. Sheridan’s team of producers also includes John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Freidman, Luke Grimes, and Greg Yaitanes. The show’s creators describe Marshals as a story about “range justice” and the toll that comes with protecting a land that refuses to stay civilized. Can Kayce balance his duty to his family and his oath to the law? Or will the violence of Montana claim him too?

The Yellowstone universe is far from finished expanding. While Marshals moves the timeline forward, another spin-off called The Dutton Ranch brings back Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser as Beth and Rip in a story set after the end of the flagship series. This time, they’ve left the original ranch behind in search of peace, and maybe redemption, but fans know peace never lasts long in Sheridan’s world. The official synopsis teases that Beth and Rip “do what they must to survive” while trying to raise Carter, played again by Finn Little, into the man they hope he can become.

The Dutton Ranch will also feature Ed Harris, Annette Bening, and Jai Courtney—proof Sheridan can still pull in Hollywood’s finest. The new installment is expected to premiere later in 2026 exclusively on Paramount+. With Marshals ready to hit TV screens in March, viewers may be entering the busiest, and most explosive, year yet for the Yellowstone franchise. The real question is, after all the blood, loyalty, and sacrifice, how much more can the Duttons endure?
