Kevin is also struggling because he’s aware of all Carl’s lies, including the hit and run that nearly killed Tyrone Dobbs and swapping sister Debbie Webster in the car following his drink driving crash during Corriedale.

However, he doesn’t have sufficient evidence to prove these things and Debbie, who was recently revealed to be Carl’s biological mother, refuses to hear a bad word against him ad has even taken the rap for the crash knowing full well Carl was actually responsible.

In devastating scenes this week, Abi found Kevin asleep in a customer’s car and confided in Debbie how worried she is about Kevin as it’s clear that he’s not looking after himself or his business.

Elsewhere, only recently, Roy Cropper has developed a “strong bond” with a woman called Alice. Roy had been corresponding with prisoners as part of a pen pal scheme and he has since started writing to a woman named Alice, whose son is in prison. However, it was soon revealed that ‘Alice’ is not all she seems…

On Thursday’s episode, a man in his fifties called at the cafe and he introduced himself as Mal, explaining to Roy that he’s Alice’s husband to which a shocked Roy tried to explain, leaving Mal devastated. Mal said they had been married for 31 years and had three children before storming out the cafe after punching Roy.

Meanwhile, following a row with husband Dev Alahan after taking out her grief on him, Bernie Winter headed out on a boozy night out with the girls.

Bernie knocked back numerous shots, before announcing she was going home. However, she soon got distracted at the Chariot Square bar, where she downed even more shots and alcohol.

At this point, Alice’s husband Mal joined her at the bar and after introducing himself, explained that his wife has been having an affair. The duo got even more drunk and headed to Mal’s hotel room for an after party, where they took drugs.

However, after Mal made a pass at Bernie to which she rejected, the episode suddenly ended with Bernie passed out in a toilet cubicle at a nightclub with no explanation as to how she got there or what happened in the interim period.

Things got even more awkward when Mal approached Bernie on the cobbles after their night together especially as he’s the electrician who has been called to fix the electricity in Roy’s flat.

Meanwhile, with the sudden arrival of Shona Platt’s estranged sister Jodie, it appears she’s hiding many secrets.
