Kevin Costner’s ‘powerful’ period drama away from Yellowstone gets major update
John Dutton, the star of Yellowstone, has given fans a sneak peek at his next TV project with an exciting trailer on Instagram.
The Hollywood legend played the formidable ranch owner for four and a half seasons on the popular Paramount drama before leaving the show midway through season five.

Since then, he’s been working on his own blockbuster, Horizon, with parts three and four currently postponed due to underwhelming box office returns.
In addition to his leading roles, Costner has produced the upcoming historical drama The Gray House for Prime Video, in collaboration with fellow silver screen legend Morgan Freeman.
This gripping series is based on the true story of a group of female spies who infiltrated the Confederacy during the American Civil War and altered the course of history, reports the Express.
Headed by Mary-Louise Parker from The West Wing, the drama will follow several women including a Virginia socialite and her mother, a former slave, and a notorious courtesan.
A logline via Deadline states: “They operate deep inside the corridors of Confederate power and transform an underground railroad into an effective underground spy network, risking life and liberty.”
The impressive cast also features Amethyst Davis, Daisy Head, Ben Vereen, Paul Anderson, Robert Knepper, Keith David, Marc Jenner, Colin Morgan, Hannah James, and Ben Cura.
This week, Costner took to Instagram to preview the series with a minute-long new trailer, unveiling the first clips from the highly anticipated historical drama.
“Proud to have helped produce this powerful story,” he wrote in the caption, before announcing the release date of Thursday, February 26th. All eight episodes will be available at once.
One woman poses the question in the new preview: “If we leave evil alone, are we responsible for it growing?”.
Clips have also emerged showcasing The Gray House’s genuine 19th Century backdrop, filled with mystery, uprisings, racial strife, despair, and extensive Civil War conflicts.
Costner’s 2.6 million followers expressed excitement over the latest news about the much-anticipated historical drama and flooded the comments section with praise for the new preview.
One enthusiast gushed: “Love this!! Can’t wait. Especially since its in Virginia, where I am from. A lot of history here!”
Another responded: “I’m ready to see this! Kevin you are awesome.”
“Profound thriller. Can’t wait to watch the Series,” a third viewer concurred, while a fourth commenter added: “He’s done it again.”
Despite Costner’s departure, the Yellowstone franchise continues to thrive with both The Dutton Ranch and Marshals scheduled to debut this year.
