Yellowstone. The western drama series starring Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser and more debuted in 2018 and has made it to five seasons. Prequel shows have spun off the show as well.

Sheridan has also shaped projects like Tulsa King starring Sylvester Stallone, Special Ops: Lioness starring Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman and Mayor of Kingstown with Jeremy Renner. He has The Madison starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman and Patrick J. Adams in the works as well. He executive produced Chad Feehan’s Lawmen: Bass Reeves starring David Oyelowo, Lauren E. banks, Demi Singleton, and he also executive produced Willie Nelson & Family, Finestkind (2023), Pure Grit (2021), Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021) and The Last Cowboy (2019).

Kurt Russell portrays Preston Clyburn, and Matthew Fox plays Paul Clyburn, in The Madison, another family drama that follows the Clyburns as they leave New York City for the Madison River valley of Montana. The show has six episodes and will premiere March 14 on Paramount+.

Luke Grimes will lead the Yellowstone spinoff Y: Marshals as Kayce Dutton. With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Dutton joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty, and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.

Landman follows the empire of West Texas oil rigs and just how far those involved will go to gain fortune. Sheridan created the series, which stars Jon Hamm, Billy Bob Thornton and Demi Moore, with Christian Wallace. Season 1 premiered in November 2024 to promising viewership.

Jeremy Renner stars as Mike McLusky in Mayor of Kingstown, which also stars Hugh Dillon as Ian, Tobi Bamtefa as Deverin ‘Bunny’ Washington, Taylor Handley as Kyle McLusky, Emma Laird as Iris, Derek Webster as Stevie, Michael Beach as Kareem and more. The McLusky family are power brokers who operate in Kingstown, Michigan, where incarceration is the only business that does well. Sheridan shares creator credit with Hugh Dillon.

Yellowstone is currently in the second half of its fifth season, but the show is no longer led by Kevin Costner’s John Dutton, who helmed the series for the first four seasons. It also stars Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, Luke Grimes, Wes Bentley and more. More seasons are in negotiation with Reilly and Hauser in talks to lead. Sheridan created the hit western series with John Linson.

1883 is a Yellowstone prequel starring Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, ancestors of Kevin Costner’s John Dutton. Sam Elliott also starred as Shea Brennan with LaMonica Garrett playing Thomas. Isabel May starred in narrated the show, which ran for one season.

1923 is another Yellowstone prequel starring Harrison Ford as Jacob Dutton and Helen Mirren as Cara Dutton. Brandon Sklenar also stars as Spencer Dutton. Season 2 of the spinoff series is in production. Isabel May also narrates 1923.

Special Ops: Lioness stars CIA operative Joe (Zoe Saldaña) as she straddles professional life monitoring the war on terror and her personal life. Season 1 starred Laysla De Oliveira as Cruz Manuelos. Morgan Freeman appears as Edwin Mullins, and Nicole Kidman plays Kaitlyn Meade. Repeat Sheridan collaborators include LaMonica Garrett (1883) as Tucker and Dave Annable (Yellowstone) as Neal.

Sylvester Stallone leads Tulsa King, a show in which he stars as Mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi, who has been released to prison with an exile to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he attempts to build a new criminal empire. Andrea Savage plays Stacy Beale, and Martin Starr plays Bodhi in addition to Jay Will’s Tyson, Max Casella’s Armand Truisi, Vincent Piazza’s Vince Antonacci and Gerrett Hedlund’s Mitch Keller. More seasons are in the works.

Sheridan wrote Hell or High Water, directed by David Mackenzie. The film stars Chris Pine as Toby Howard, a divorced father whose brother Tanner Howard (Ben Foster) is an ex-con. Together, the brothers team up to carry out some heists and save their family ranch that’s about to fall to the bank. Jeff Bridges also stars as Marcus Hamilton, and Gil Birmingham plays Alberto Parker. Dale Dickey appears as Elsie.

Sheridan wrote and directed Wind River (2017) which follows a wildlife officer who unites with an FBI agent to solve the murder of a young woman on a Wyoming Native American reservation. The film stars Elizabeth Olsen, Jeremy Renner, Graham Greene Kelsey Asbille Gil Birmingham and Tantoo Cardinal.
