Sister Wives SHOCKER Robyn’s Alleged Exit Plan Leaves Kody Exposed!
Christine Brown’s daughter, Mykelti Padron, is opening up about the wave of criticism she recently faced after giving her three kids iPads during a road trip. In a candid Instagram video posted Thursday, Jan. 8, the 29-year-old reality star addressed the judgment head-on.
“I hate when I get judged for how I raise my kids,” she said directly to the camera. “I got some serious hate comments recently. I actually got hate DMs, massive amounts of them. A lot. And it’s because I gave my kids iPads.”

Mykelti’s kids—daughter Avalon Asa and twin sons Archer and Ace—were accompanying her and her husband, Tony Padron, on a four-hour drive to visit Ysabel, the second-youngest of Christine and Kody Brown’s six children. To keep everyone entertained, Mykelti handed the tablets to her children.
“I had my Kindle, I had my phone. I was scrolling. Tony had his podcast he was listening to. We were entertained,” she explained. “I gave my kids iPads so that they could be entertained as well. They could enjoy the drive.”
Despite the simplicity of her reasoning, the post sparked a flood of judgment from online critics. “It’s four hours. They’re fine,” Mykelti added. “But I got a lot of comments, even though, I feel like as adults, that’s exactly what we do — we get on our phones while we drive. You know, I’m a straight-up passenger princess.”
She concluded the video with a pointed plea against parental judgment: “I don’t like that we get judged so hard as a mom for trying to entertain my kids,” captioning the post with: “Cut Mom Shaming in 2026.”
Fans quickly rallied in support. One commenter wrote, “iPads all day long, not playing outside, etc. is bad. Using iPads to watch a show or play while on a long drive is totally ok! 👍🏼” Another added, “Your kids your business!!❤️ it’s easy to judge from behind a screen.” And yet another echoed, “They are your babies, you don’t need to justify your parenting decisions.”
This isn’t the only big change in Mykelti’s life recently. In July 2024, she announced that her family had moved from Utah to Charlotte, North Carolina, to be closer to her sister Ysabel, who relocated there in 2021.
During an October episode of Sister Wives, Christine hinted that Mykelti’s complicated relationship with her dad, Kody Brown, may have played a part in the move. “I know part of the reason they’re leaving is, [Mykelti] is just exhausted from trying so hard to get everybody back together again,” Christine said in a confessional. “Mykelti tried so hard to get the whole family back together. She really wanted to.”
Through the judgment and the family transitions, Mykelti seems determined to focus on her own family and not let online criticism dictate her parenting choices.
