Taylor Sheridan ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoffs: The Latest on ‘Landman,’ ‘The Madison,’ ‘Marshals,’ and ‘Dutton Ranch’
Taylor Sheridan’s TV universe continues to expand, with multiple series moving forward at once. “Landman” wrapped season 2 on Sunday,
Jan. 18, and the finale set up major changes for Tommy Norris and his family heading into season 3. At the same time, the “Yellowstone” franchise remains in motion with new projects in development and production, including “The Madison,” “Y: Marshals,” and “Dutton Ranch.”

“Landman” will return for season 3. While not exactly a “Yellowstone” spinoff, the show is one of Sheridan’s biggest hits to date. The series stars Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, who works in the West Texas oilfields and rises from landman to president of M-Tex Oil.
Season 2 ends with Tommy’s life changing fast. After he gets fired from M-Tex, he immediately pivots and starts building something new. By the finale, Tommy launches his own company, CTT Oil Exploration and Cattle, and recruits key workers into the new operation.
That decision creates major problems for Cami Miller (Demi Moore), who fired Tommy and now risks losing additional employees to his competing company. Going into season 3, the central tension appears poised to focus on Tommy trying to build a new oil empire — while M-Tex pushes back.
The show’s synopsis frames the story as a modern tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs, where “as oil rises from the earth, so do secrets — and Tommy Norris’ breaking point may be closer than he realizes.”
Fans of the “Yellowstone” universe are getting the first official look at “The Madison,” a new Montana-set drama led by Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell.
Another major project connected to “Yellowstone” is “Y: Marshals,” now known as just “Marshals.” The series follows Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes), the last living son of John Dutton (Kevin Costner), as he tries to carve out a new path.
The show changes the format from “Yellowstone.” Rather than a serialized cable drama, “Y: Marshals” is built as a law enforcement procedural for network television.
CBS footage offers a glimpse of Kayce’s new world — and the danger that comes with it. In the preview, Pete Calvin (Logan Marshall-Green) warns him, “Gangs, cartels, race warriors… may look like God’s country to you, but the Devil’s running free out there, man.”
“Dutton Ranch,” the “Yellowstone” sequel focused on Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), is still moving forward. Recent reports suggest production has resumed.
There haven’t been many official updates, but according to Collider, casting notices connected to Fort Worth indicate the show is actively filming. Production on “Dutton Ranch” reportedly began in August 2025, and the latest activity suggests it will stay on schedule.
Paramount+ has not announced an exact premiere date yet, but with filming continuing, the series appears to be getting closer to release.
