General Hospital Mystery Solved! Now We Know Who the New Character Chris McKenna Teased Is — and It’s a Doozy!
Well that didn’t take long to get some answers! General Hospital‘s Chris McKenna just teased filming some scenes in Brennan’s office the
other day with an entirely new character who we’d get to meet soon. Then, the show teased Wednesday’s episode with a clip of Jack, shocked, demanding, “What the hell are you doing in my room?!?” to a mysterious stranger.

That, of course, turned out to be Carly, and a dead end, but the truth, it turns out, was still out there. And by out there, we mean in the same preview video. Because the scowling fellow talking to Sidwell turned out to be the newcomer — and a whole lot of bad news!
General Hospital confirmed that this newcomer is WSB Agent Ross Cullum, played by Andrew Hawkes, and that he’ll be sticking around for a little while. Plus, the show teased that he’s got a connection to Britt. And, well, that’s one way to put it!
Because he is most definitely neck deep in this mess! He knocked Anna out when she tried to escape, but went to great pains to keep her from seeing his face. Right away, that set off alarm bells suggesting that she might recognize him — which definitely leant credit to him being a WSB agent. Or at least a past one.
Now Cullum and Sidwell are trying to figure out what to do with Anna, so they can move Britt onto the island to work. As Cullum put it, Britt worked closely with Faison at the end of his life, and she’s the only one who can create a working prototype. But then, Sidwell’s partner in crime got called to work — by Jack!
That’s then we learned he’s not just an agent, but Director Cullum, head of the WSB! Also, between working with Sidwell and claiming to Jack that the “lost Anna Devane,” he’s clearly very much a double agent. Actually, that’s kind of what Britt is, too! Granted, her spying isn’t exactly something she chose since Sidwell’s threatened her into helping and Brennan coerced her into gathering intel for him, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do.
Hawkes has made a ton of TV and video game appearances, starting back in the Party of Five days, and continuing most recently to ABC’s The Rookie and Netflix’s Love, Death & Robots. We can’t say this is his first soap opera, but since he’s only appeared as a “thief” on The Young and the Restless back in 2014, we can say this is his first substantial daytime role!
Now, we just have to see how far this new twist goes and how much he’s in charge. Right now, he’s looking to be on par with Sidwell. And that’s bad news for everyone involved.
