LiveEmmerdale RECAP: furious fans say ‘sort it out’ as episode pulled

It’s been a dramatic week on Emmerdale so far, with Monday’s episode kicking off with a shock killing.

Just a week after crossing over with Coronation Street for the Corriedale special, the new soap schedule has officially begun – with Emmerdale making up half of the soap Power Hour. Monday’s episode saw Ray turn up dead – with the big question on fans lips being: who killed him?

Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw teased some huge storylines for the coming weeks and months, with the Dingles – of course – front and centre.

“The Dingle family are set to face huge repercussions and Cain is at the centre of a major prostate cancer storyline spanning across 2026. Adding to their devastation, Moira will be arrested for human trafficking, with her arrest timed to coincide with her husband’s diagnosis,” she told us.

In yesterday’s episode, Arthur looked rattled when Laurel mentioned Ray’s demise and his body being found. We then watched Laurel cover something up before heading to work, looking around to check that no one was watching.

Emmerdale viewers are sharing their theories over who may have been Ray’s murderer after last night’s bombshell episode.

Having their say, one fan wrote on X: “I reckon Laurel didn’t kill Ray, but she’s covering up for Arthur…#Emmerdale.” Another tweeted: “Arthur killed Ray I’m calling it now and laurel is covering for him #emmerdale.” A third added: “You just know the killer is going to be Arthur!”

After last night’s murder mystery kicked off with Ray revealed to be dead, Emmerdale isn’t giving away too much when it comes to tomorrow night’s episode.

Teasing Wednesday’s episode of Emmerdale, the description reads: “Evidence is found and an arrest is made, while Laurel is struggling and the search for Bear continues.”

Fans won’t find out who killed Ray until next week, with the murderer’s identity set to come out in a flashback special.

Emmerdale fans have taken to social media to fume over tonight’s episode being postponed for the football.

“@ITV why do you insist on disrupting ITV schedule for #Emmerdale & #Corrie to put Football on. Why can’t the football be put on ITV2 or ITV4,” one wrote.

“The soaps have recently changed timings obviously not to coincide with #Eastenders, so please sort it out.”

While Emmerdale won’t be airing tonight due to the football, fans won’t have to wait too long for it to return to our screens.

Emmerdale is set to continue on Wednesday, airing at the usual time of 8pm.

Emmerdale’s Michell Hardwick reveals new project with Corrie star
Michelle Hardwick – who Emmerdale fans know best for playing village vet Vanessa Woodfield, is set for a Corriedale cross-over of her own as she takes on a new role.

The 49-year-old star revealed that she’ll be appearing in short film, Through The Eyes of Bairns, with Krissi Bohn – who played Jenna Kamara on Coronation Street between 2012 and 2014.

“So proud of the incredible cast and crew behind Through The Eyes of Bairns. The energy, teamwork, and passion on set have been amazing. More filming next weekend and we can’t wait to share more,” she wrote on Instagram.

Emmerdale’s Danny Miller has joked that he worried for his job after leaking his new look as Aaron Dingle. Taking to his Instagram Story today, Danny said: “So this year I said it’s a new year, it’s a new me. Therefore, it’s a new Aaron as well.

“So costume said ‘Well, can we try something with you?’ and I said ‘Yeah let’s do it’. And they said ‘Do you fancy a new smarter Aaron, still in black of course’. And their response was this,” showing off a high-neck jumper and quilted bomber jacket.

“You can catch this live on ITV and ITVX sometime in February. But anyway do you like it?”

In a subsequent post, he added: “Just in fear of losing my job, I’d thought I’d better tell you it’s not live, just a disclaimer.” You can read more here.
