Coronation Street spoilers as drunk Lisa lashes out, Jodie blames Shona and a rush to hospital
While we’re starting to move away from the aftermath of the recent multi-vehicle crash that tragically claimed the life of Billy Mayhew, in Coronation Street, there’s more drama brewing.
Starting with the Platts and with David at the hospital with baby Harper, a tired Shona is back at home and her recently arrived sister, Jodie, wastes no time in tackling Shona about their past. She soon rounds on Shona for abandoning her with their awful parents and claims that she never cared about her.

With Jodie clearly here to stay, Shona takes Jodie to the café for breakfast but when DC Kit Green enters she’s thrown into panic and does a runner. As fans will recall, Kit came across Jodie during the recent crash as she tried to escape him in the woods, but back at No.8, a clueless Shona quizzes Jodie, intrigued as to how she knows Kit.
Getting nowhere with her sibling, Shona ends up asking Kit how he knows Jodie. Kit explains how he met her in the woods on the night of the crash and noticing her wrists were bound, he said she appeared to be running away from someone and was clearly terrified.
Kit’s information leaves Shona shocked. Meanwhile, Jodie goes to a domestic violence support group at the community centre. Jodie listens as a woman, called Ellie, describes the horrific abuse she suffered at the hands of her partner. Soon, Shona and David get a call from Bethany saying Jodie is in the house having a meltdown. What is going on?
As the week draws to a close, Jodie offers to help out at the cafe whilst Nina Lucas goes to the wholesalers. She wastes no time in flirting with Carl Webster, prompting his scorned former lover, Abi Webster, to warn her off. Meanwhile, at the hospital, Shona confides in David that tempted to try and track down their dad to find out what really went on with Jodie.
Elsewhere, and speaking of Nina, as Roy Cropper sets about writing a letter to his pen pal, Alice, Nina teases him and suggests he could take their relationship to the next level. But Roy takes offence and storms out. Later, as Roy and Nina discuss Alice’s authenticity and the fact that she’s unlikely to be a catfisher, Roy receives a text from her.
Also on the cobbles, at Underworld, Betsy Swain tells Carla Connor that they were once a family and could be again as both she and her mum still love her very much. With Betsy’s words ringing in her ear, it’s later Roy’s turn to try reunite the couple.
He explains to Lisa that it’s the anniversary of his late wife Hayley’s death and he’s going to visit the boating lake where he scattered her ashes. Roy also urges Carla to patch things up with Lisa as Hayley would want her to be happy, and Carla points out that Hayley would want him to be happy too.
Calling at the Bistro to book a client lunch, Carla is surprised to be handed a letter by Ryan Connor inviting her to lunch with Lisa. Sitting down for lunch Carla starts to text Lisa, but the clients say that they don’t allow phones at the table. Carla switches hers off and it seems it doing go down well as, clearly drunk, Lisa barges her way into the hotel restaurant and lambasts Carla for standing her up.
The incident seemingly gets Carla back home to No.6, as a hungover Lisa watches as Carla makes breakfast and admits she remembers very little about the previous day. But it seemingly worked as Carla and Lisa later call at the Rovers and announce they’re back together, leaving everyone thrilled.
But later, a tearful Sally Metcalfe calls at No.6 with some post for Carla and proceeds to pour out her marriage woes to Lisa. Having appeared to have solved their own troubles, an exasperated Carla surreptitiously calls Tim and orders him to come and fetch his wife.
Meanwhile, when Leanne Battersby calls round and suggests to Maggie Driscoll that she’d like to buy her out of the pub, Eva Price acts shocked. But Maggie later rounds on Eva and accuses her of plotting with Leanne behind her back. As for other secrets, on the street, Megan explains to Will that she’s going away for a while. Clearly worried, Will enquires if she’s ill. What will she say?
Back in the Rovers, whilst Eva and Maggie trade insults over the sale of Maggie’s share of the pub, Ben heads off to deal with the beer delivery but he clutches his chest in pain. Leanne offers Maggie £160k for her share of the pub, but Maggie turns her down, and things take a turn when Leanne’s bag wraps around a bar stool, causing Maggie to fall.
Eva notices that Ben looks pale and sweaty and when Ben admits that he’s been suffering heart palpitations, Eva calls an ambulance. Meanwhile, a worried Will is already at A&E with Megan who is feeling unwell. Are they about to be rumbled?
Later, when Maggie and Eva bicker over Ben’s breakfast, Ben despairs. Eventually, Eva and Maggie agree that for the sake of Ben’s health, they need to call a truce.
Meanwhile, outside the school, Will implores Megan to dump Daniel Osbourne as he finds it so hard seeing them together. Megan assures him that she’ll do what she can but, over dinner in the Bistro, Daniel apologises to Megan for coming on too strong but tells her he can’t help the way he feels about her. When Daniel suggests she should report Will to Mrs Crawshaw for harassment, Megan quickly changes the subject.
