Emmerdale star Jurell Carter speaks out as Nate appears one last time

Former Emmerdale star Jurell Carter has spoken up after Nate Robinson made one final appearance this week. The star’s character was killed off screen in 2024 by John Sugden, with fans learning the truth about his fate last year.

While his frozen corpse was seen at the bottom of the lake, it was confirmed that John had injected him with a lethal dose of drugs after being beaten up by father Cain.

Evil John met his own demise this week during the Corriedale crossover, with sister Victoria seen standing over his corpse.

As part of the storyline, fans were shown a flashback to Nate’s own death at the hands of John, and Jurell has now responded to his brief cameo.

Taking to his Instagram Stories with a picture of himself in character as Nate alongside John (Oliver Farnworth), the actor wrote (via Manchester Evening News): “I heard Nate made an appearance this week.

“Only right I put a throwback up with his killer [heartbreak emojis]…, he added, before teasing: “Nate’s gone but I filmed on two projects in 2025 so I’ll be back on your screens this year and also maybe on your big screen in 2027.”

Meanwhile, following his own Emmerdale departure, Oliver has spoken about his regret over his exit, admitting he would’ve loved to stay on indefinitely.

“To do the story and the character justice, it’s important villains get their comeuppance – that’s what people like to see,” he told the Daily Star.

“For me, personally, I wanted to stay at Emmerdale forever. I loved it there. So selfishly, I would say I wish he hadn’t been killed off.”

Emmerdale ties up two more loose ends in April Windsor’s dark storyline tonight – and it’s good news at last for the traumatised teen and her family. With Celia Daniels and Ray Walters both out of the picture, the show starts to address some unresolved plot points.

First up, Mary Goskirk’s uncertain position within the family dynamic is finally put to bed. Poor Mary was left devastated last month as her daughter Rhona harshly kicked her out of Smithy Cottage, declaring that she was no longer welcome. Protective Rhona believed that it was safer for Mary to keep a distance while Celia and Ray were making threats.

In Friday’s episode, Mary addresses the elephant in the room now that she finally knows the truth about what April, Rhona and Marlon have all been through recently.

When Mary admits that she wishes she’d been kept in the loop, Rhona replies: “I hated having to lie to you, mum, getting you to move out. But it was the only way we could keep you safe.

Just as everyone celebrates Mary’s decision to move back, there’s another positive update when the police want to speak to April again.

After some fast investigative work, DS Walsh confirms the fate of Callum Swift following April’s account of how she supposedly killed him in self-defence.

“We made some enquiries and you’ll be relieved to know that Mr Swift is alive and well,” Walsh explains. “Once we’d tracked him down, we asked him to come in to answer a few questions, after which I arrested him for a number of crimes, including solicitation. We’ve detained him pending further enquiries.

“Ray Walters and Celia Daniels lied to you. We’ve seen this pattern before. It’s a tactic. A way of keeping their victims under control.”

Of course, April’s ordeal isn’t over quite yet. Walsh is unable to confirm whether April will face any legal consequences after being forced to do Ray and Celia’s bidding for months.

April is also likely to be a suspect when Ray’s body is found next week, so the drama in the Dales is clearly just beginning…
