‘The Young and the Restless’ Nikki Begs Victor to Deal When Jack Offers Matt for the AI; Cane Admits to Phyllis the AI Can be Turned on Newman
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers here and we’re ready to close the week out in style and share some fun spoilery goodies.
The episode for Friday, January 9 looks like an interesting one as Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) look to make a deal.

Well, Jack is looking to make a deal. Victor doesn’t want to give up the AI. Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will find her backbone and step into it and ask Victor to stop the war.
Since Jack will have Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) with them at the ranch, we expect Victor to double cross him. His security forces will counter Jack’s or something like that.
Meanwhile, Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) will decide to become Dumas again and show Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) the text from his kids.
He’ll surprise her by saying he can turn the AI on Victor remotely. He hadn’t yet because he wanted to win Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and his kids over. Now, he has nothing to lose.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers really wish people would stop expecting Victor to be willing to cooperate.
He’s too far up his own end to care about working with others, much less a deal for a man he wants dead. His reasoning is he’ll catch Matt himself.
There’s a chance he’s bluffing, but we doubt it. His family are nothing but pawns in his quest for power. So, letting a psycho roam free so he can destroy Jabot is a fair trade to him.
He’ll worry about Matt later and trust his family will survive somehow until then.
It’ll be nice to see Nikki try to convince him to give up the war and hand over the AI.
A shame her backbone is more like a wet noodle, just like her children’s when it comes to Victor.
We expect Victor’s agreement will be the cliffhanger.
At this point, we’re willing to forget the whole AI storyline didn’t happen. There have bee too many stupid decisions and twists to keep anyone’s interest.
The show tried to show it’s clever and proved it’s anything but as now Cane will tell Phyllis he can turn the AI on Victor. It has a built in kill switch that will turn it on whoever is using it.
When Phyllis wonders why he never used it, he’ll say because he was trying to be a better person and win back Lily and their kids.
Now that door’s closed and he has nothing to lose. Dumas is back. Or is he?
Could Cane trigger the AI and destroy Newman while Victor gloats? Let us know in the comments below.
