Coronation Street has revealed a shocking kidnap twist in Becky Swain’s dark storyline. The dangerous villain has targeted Carla Connor in a ruthless bid to get her out of Lisa and Betsy’s lives forever.

The ITV soap’s Christmas Eve episode finally confirmed the truth over Carla’s mysterious departure from Weatherfield. Carla appeared to leave the Street for a trip to Lanzarote last week, following weeks of tensions with her partner Lisa thanks to Becky’s relentless scheming.

Social media posts and other messages from Carla have appeared to suggest that she’s living her best life in Spain – and fully ready to move on from her relationship with Lisa. But the reality is very different…

In the early scenes of Wednesday’s episode, manipulative Becky encouraged Lisa to forget about Carla and concentrate on enjoying a family Christmas with her and Betsy.

Keen to take any opportunity to get closer to Lisa again, sly Becky gave her a massage to relieve some tension and then started to kiss her on the back of her neck. She was delighted when Lisa finally responded to her advances, which led to them giving into temptation.

Later, though, Lisa was reminded of how much Carla still means to her and she left an emotional voice note – hoping that the Underworld boss would soon return to talk things through.

“So, it’s Christmas Eve, babe. And I can’t stop thinking about you,” Lisa admitted. “I want you. I want you back in my life and I’m going to do whatever it takes to get you back.

“It’s you. And it’ll only ever be you. I love you.”

Lisa was disappointed to receive a message of rejection in response, bluntly claiming that it was time for both of them to move on. But in a twist, the sender wasn’t really Carla!

Ruthless Becky was seen meddling with Carla’s phone after kidnapping her love rival. Poor Carla was gagged and trapped in a closet in Becky’s flat – it’s clear that she never made it to Spain…

Over the rest of the festive season, we’ll see Becky step up her attempts to manipulate Lisa with all manner of plots and schemes to bring her close again.
