‘Yellowstone’ actor hints hotly anticipated spinoff show ‘6666’ may not happen: ‘Fingers crossed’

“Yellowstone” actor Jefferson White is not sure if one of the cowboy franchise’s hotly anticipated spinoff shows is still happening.

White recently told The Daily Mail, “Not that I know of now,” when asked if he’ll reprise his role for the planned spinoff “6666.”

“I kept my fingers crossed, but also, I’d be grateful if I got to do more and I’m grateful for what I got to do. I don’t want to be selfish,” he said. “We got a lot of great mileage out of that show.”

Paramount announced the show “6666” in Feb. 2021. Set on Texas’ historic Four Sixes Ranch – which “Yellowstone” mastermind Taylor Sheridan bought in real life – the show would follow Jimmy (White) after the events of “Yellowstone.”

Since 2022, Sheridan has owned that iconic ranch. It’s famous in cowboy circles, and it was controlled by a family dynasty for over a century.

Per the Austin American Statesman, Sheridan buying the 266,000-acre property marked its first-ever purchase since its founding in 1870.

“Yellowstone” aired for five seasons on Paramount from 2018 to 2024, ending amid rumors of an alleged feud between Sheridan and star Kevin Costner. The plot centered on the Dutton family, including patriarch John (Costner) and his adult children Kayce (Luke Grimes), Jamie (Wes Bentley), Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Beth’s husband, Rip (Cole Hauser).

There’s a spinoff in the works for Kayce called “Y:Marshalls” premiering on CBS in March. There’s also a Beth and Rip spinoff in the works. Rumored to be called “The Dutton Ranch,” it premieres at an unannounced date in 2026.
