Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon has debuted a gorgeous ‘change’, and even ended up giving herself a surprise.

The actress is best known for playing Maria Windass – nee Sutherland and Connor – in the ITV soap having made her debut back in 2000 after beating Girls Aloud’s Kimberley Walsh and Hear’Say star Suzanne Shaw to land the role.

Taking to social media over the weekened, Samia revealed she’d decided to undergo a slight makeover what it came to her tressess as she headed to the hair salon.

Sharing a selfie from the hot seat, the soap star shared with her Instagram followers: “Had a bit of a hair change today. The fabulous @calumtierney waved his magic wand (comb) once more… Pics on the way.”

It was a short while later that Samia reshared a post from Calum, a celebrity hairstylist who is also responsible for the locks of former Corrie favourite Michelle Keegan, in which she was seen sporting a brunette do.

“Suede Brown,” Calum dubbed the colour, before Samia wrote on her Instagram Story post: “Ready for autumn [leaves emoji and brown heart icon].”

It was the following morning that Samia gave herself a shock as she got used to the change to her locks. Posing for a selfie in the garden of her home, she shared: “Did that thing of looking in the mirror this morning and forgetting I’d had my coloure changes… #autumnhair.”

It comes after Samia swapped Weatherfield for Greece over the summer. Following her return to the UK, Samia took to Instagram with a string of snaps from her sun-soaked trip to Corfu. In one set, the soap star could be seen aboard a boat alongside husband Sylvain, who is best known for being a professional skater on Dancing on Ice.

She also included a snap of a stunning vibrant sunset an was all smiles as she posed for the camera in a turqouise patterned bikini which she teamed with a pair of brown shorts.

Alongside the post, Samia wrote: “Had a Mamma Mia moment on a cute boat in Corfu. The last pic might be the best I’ve ever taken of a sunset.. #kefalonia #summer25 #greece.”

And the comments quickly came flooding in. Corrie co-star Sally Ann Matthews, who plays Jenny Connor, asked: “Could you BE any fitter??” Abi Webster actress Sally Carman-Duttine said: “Gorgeous.” Emmerdale’s Vanessa Woodfield star Michelle Hardwick also commented: “You look stunning.”
