Coronation Street – has Dee-Dee Bailey left for good after emotional exit?
Coronation Street has aired the final scenes for Channique Sterling-Brown tonight, as her character Dee-Dee Bailey departed the Cobbles for pastures new. She recently told her family that she has taken a job in Singapore, breaking up with her boyfriend Ollie Driscoll and reneging on her co-parenting promise with brother James.
James is still furious about the whole thing, and had a go at his sister when she popped into the café with Alya Nazir.
“Family means nothing to you, as long as you get what you want,” he sniped.
Billy Mayhew reassured her that she was doing the right thing, and they reminisced about how much she loved Billy’s late husband Paul Foreman.

The siblings made up later on, and Dee-Dee even invited James to come to Singapore with her to continue co-parenting Laila, but he said no.
“This is your opportunity, your life,” he stated. “Don’t need your little brother in tow. I will miss you, though.”
She invited him to her farewell meal at Speed Daal, but he said he couldn’t face it, and started to get emotional right there and then before bolting off, leaving Dee-Dee alone in tears.
At the meal, dad Ed told Dee-Dee how proud he was of her strength, while she cut the tension by stating that everyone’s holidays were sorted from here on out.
As her loved one gathered by the taxi to see her off, James turned up and said his emotional goodbyes to Dee-Dee and Laila, before they departed.
“Just me and you then, baby girl,” she told her daughter. “Let’s do this.”

It’s another low-key departure, which has been the show’s MO for a while now. And while the door is still open for a return in the future, it’s very much the last we’ve seen of her for now.
The actor has already confirmed her next project, as part of her desire to spread her wings and try new things, and revealed what she pinched from the set.
