Coronation Street’s Kit Green has broken plenty of hearts on the ITV soap but actor Jacob Roberts’ love life is a far cry from the drama on the cobbles

 

 

Coronation Street’s Kit Green has ruffled plenty of feathers on the soap but actor Jacob Roberts’ life is very different off camera.

The actor joined the cast last year, playing bent copper Kit who rocked up as Bernie Winter’s (Jane Hazlegrove) estranged son – and it didn’t take him long to become involved in some drama.

From finding out he has a secret son, Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey), to being left for dead after getting stabbed, Kit’s time in Weatherfield has not been short of drama.

The cobbles lothario has had his fair share of romances on the cobbles too, including a fling with Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) before finding love with Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien). In real life though, actor Jacob’s love life isn’t quite as wild as his Weatherfield alter-egos…

Jacob’s split from long-term girlfriend

When Jacob joined Coronation Street, he was in a long-term relationship with PR Amy Harris. However, in October 2024, the pair split after five years together.

The soap star fuelled separation speculation last year by erasing all traces of Amy from his Instagram grid, a move that Amy mirrored in October 2024 – seemingly confirming their split.

The pair were frequently seen at glitzy events and cosy dinners, with the cause of their separation remaining a mystery, according to OK!.

Jacob’s new romance with soap colleague

Fast forward to October this year, and Jacob went Instagram official with his new girlfriend, whom he met on the ITV soap: Coronation Street’s PR Caitlin Connolly.

He appeared to confirm their relationship with a sweet selfie. In the snap, Jacob and Caitlin could be seen posing together, with Jacob adding a love heart emoji to the photo.

Talking about their alleged romance, a source at the time claimed that they had “been together for a while” and are “besotted with each other” – with the insider nothing “it’s been an open secret they’re an item for quite a while”.

Jacob’s PDA-packed post

Since then, the pair have gone from strength to strength. In October, Jacob shaded a PDA-packed photo of the pair kissing and captioned the post: “My love [love heart emoji] to the Ainsworth’s.”

And their Corrie castmates approve of the romance, with plenty rushing to the comments to swoon. Sydney Martin who plays Betsy Swain wrote: “Beautiful couple.” Maria Connor actress Samia Longchambon penned: “Gorgeous pair!”

Jacob’s on-screen girlfriend Tina O’Brien who plays Sarah said: “Oh you two!” Lisa Swain actress Vicky Myers also penned: “Gorgeous.”
