EastEnders reveals mystery visitor in terrifying Christmas Day trailer

It wouldn’t be Christmas without EastEnders, and this year’s offering is looking just as dramatic as previous years. The brand new trailer for the BBC soap gives a small glimpse at what fans can expect.

One shot shows Cindy Beale opening the door to a mystery visitor as she asks: “Do I know you?”

We also get a glimpse of Max Branning celebrating the festive season with his family, and fans are delighted to see him back on the Square.

“Can’t wait to see Max back now,” one commented on Instagram, while another added: “I’m so happy Max is back, the OG!”

Max and Cindy are set to have a dramatic face-to-face encounter in the final days of 2025, with Jimmy’s christening seeing the two legendary families coming together.

Although Cindy has never met Max, she knows he’s responsible for the death of her son Steven while she was in witness protection, and has been gunning for him ever since.

There will be more Max on New Year’s Day, with EastEnders set to air a special flashforward episode, which will give viewers a glimpse at Max’s year ahead.

Christmas Day will however see a dramatic showdown for Zoe following her return to the soap. Since coming back, she’s been on the receiving end of a stalking campaign by a mystery individual.

But could we see the person finally unveiled, as the trailer shows her mother Kat confronting an unknown person in The Vic, saying: “You’re the one that’s been tormenting her, you’ve been getting off on hurting her.”

Michelle Ryan, who plays Zoe, recently addressed the rumours that her stalker could be none other than Sam Mitchell.

“Sam is adamant that she isn’t involved, but the pair do have history when it comes to Den,” teased Ryan. “Zoe hasn’t had an easy life, so there is an argument, in her mind, that she has more than paid for her involvement in his murder.

“But Sam initially took the blame, and was incarcerated for the crime, so it wouldn’t be beyond the realms of possibility to think that she might be involved. Zoe has chosen to believe her, but I don’t think Kat is so sure.”
