Emmerdale’s Kelvin Fletcher issues ‘hopeful’ update after devastating farm fire
Kelvin Fletcher said he could see “light at the end of a tunnel” as his family edges closer to returning to their farm after a devastating fire.
The former Emmerdale star, his wife Liz and their four children have been residing in temporary lodgings since a fire ravaged their farmhouse in the Peak District while they were away.
Kelvin, who previously described the incident as “the stuff of nightmares”, has now revealed that the family are exploring ways to return to the farm.
In the December 7 episode of their ITV series Fletchers’ Family Farm, Kelvin and Liz considered erecting a lodge on the property so they could be back on site during the home’s restoration, reports the Mirror.
“Renovations to the farmhouse are still yet to start,” he shared. “But we’re desperate to get back on the farm. So Liz and I are now on a mission to find a solution. Think about the farm every minute of every day. It’s just weird not being there. There’s a worry, there’s a… It just doesn’t feel the same.”
She further added: “We’re just so grateful that we get to have temporary accommodation and the plan is to rebuild the house, be back in, and it’ll just be a story to tell.”
Kelvin elaborated: “Liz and I want to see if there’s a way we can create a temporary home on the farm. That’ll work for us as a family until the farmhouse renovation is complete.”
The couple then consulted with a lodge and cabin builder, exploring the possibility of setting up a lodge during the ongoing house refurbishment.

Having weighed up the options and formulated a plan, Kelvin expressed his eagerness, saying that “for me, the lodge can’t come soon enough”.
“After months of uncertainty, it’s exciting to be making plans to get the family back on the farm,” he declared. “Definitely feels like there’s light at the end of the tunnel, and the countdown to being back on the farm can begin,” the television personality added optimistically.
