Yellowstone star’s ‘really nasty’ horror movie that’s ‘Jaws meets Hannibal’ is now streaming

Yellowstone actress Hassie Harrison’s latest thriller, which has been hailed as a fusion of some of cinema’s greatest horror classics, is now ready to watch online.

Dangerous Animals hit screens earlier this year and features Harrison, known for playing Laramie in the popular Paramount Network Western drama, as an American surfer called Zephyr who is travelling around Australia’s Gold Coast.

Following a brief encounter with a property agent, she finds herself captured by the deranged Tucker (portrayed by Jai Courtney), who regularly abducts holidaymakers and uses them as shark bait.

Stranded far out at sea, Zephyr must rely on her wits and face some unthinkable choices to survive.

Whilst shark-themed films have been a horror mainstay for generations, numerous viewers have already been impressed by this gruesome and gripping take on the formula, reports the Express.

Film critic Mark Kermode described it as “well made and tense”, although he cautioned cinema enthusiasts that it’s also “really nasty”.

The movie currently boasts an outstanding 87 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, making Dangerous Animals definitely worth viewing at home now that it’s accessible on MGM+ through Prime Video.

The streaming service can be added for just £5.99 monthly, or you can register for a complimentary trial to enjoy the film and explore its vast library this weekend.

One particularly enthusiastic Google review declared: “The best way to describe this movie is Jaws meets Silence Of The Lambs meets Kill Bill. This movie is just unbearable tension filled utterly nerve jolting!

“Seriously if you like these sort of too good for comfort movies, make it your business to see this on the big screen.

“Jai Courtney delivers a too good for comfort performance without it being parody I mean shove an Oscar into his hand already & Hassie Harrison unquestionably delivers the credible goods.”

“Dangerous Animals might just be my favorite film of 2025,” someone else said in their five-star write-up.

“It’s a brilliantly subversive serial killer thriller that uses sharksploitation as bait and slasher tropes as its hook.

“There are some terrifying set pieces in the film, climaxing with a truly barnstorming and crowd-pleasing finale,” they added. “The two lead performances here are incredible.
