Y: Marshals (2025): Cast, Plot, Trailer - Parade

With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Kayce (Grimes) joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana. Kayce and his teammates – Pete Calvin (Logan Marshall-Green), Belle Skinner (Arielle Kebbel), Andrea Cruz (Ash Santos) and Miles Kittle (Tatanka Means) – must balance the high psychological cost of serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence with their duty to their families, which for Kayce includes his son Tate (Brecken Merrill) and his confidantes Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) and Mo (Mo Brings Plenty) from the Broken Rock reservation.

Yellowstone Cast Through The Years

Taylor Sheridan will serve as an executive producer on the series. He is also a producer on the upcoming singing competition series The Road. Other executive producers on Y: Marshals include Grimes and Yellowstone producers John Linson and Art Linson.

Grimes spent five seasons playing Kacey Dutton, the youngest son of John Dutton (Kevin Costner). A former Navy SEAL, Kacey returns home to Montana and continues on in the family ranching business, but eventually becomes Commissioner of the Montana Livestock Association. He has struggled with PTSD, as well as the tug-of-war between his moral compass and his loyalty to the Dutton name. He is married to Monica (Kelsey Asbille) and they have a son, Tate (Brecken Merrill).

While there has been no other casting news except for Grimes, we can’t imagine we won’t see Monica and Tate. Whether or not the original actors will continue in the roles or if we’ll see them at all remains to be seen.

Asbille is part Chinese, white and indigenous American and hails from South Carolina. She has appeared in Fargo, Teen Wolf and Wind River.

Yellowstone was Merrill’s first professional acting role. He was only 9 years old when the show began filming. Now 17, Merrill has appeared in This Is Us, Lifeline and the upcoming project We All Got Up to Dance.
