A “wickedly funny” film with legends from the worlds of Yellowstone and Ozark is leaving Netflix very soon.
Netflix subscribers have only days left to watch “a first class” film featuring a Yellowstone star giving their “best performance ever”. Whilst
fresh content arrives on Netflix each month, most recently Stranger Things season five, there’s also a regular removal of popular TV shows and films, and December is no exception.

The ten year old indie film Grandma is amongst those being removed, a movie which follows retired poet Elle (portrayed by Lily Tomlin) and her granddaughter Sage (Julia Garner). Following the loss of her wife, Elle embarks on a road trip across Los Angeles with Sage, attempting to raise funds for her abortion.

This unexpected journey sees them seeking money from former friends, lovers and acquaintances that neither are particularly keen to reconnect with. Unfortunately, time is running out to watch Grandma, created by American Pie co-writer Paul Weitz, as the film departs Netflix on Monday, December 1.

Central to Grandma is Elle, portrayed by actress Lily Tomlin who is renowned for her roles in Murphy Brown, The West Wing as Deborah Fiderer, Malibu Country and most recently, Grace and Frankie.
She stars alongside actress Julia Garner, whom Netflix audiences will best remember as Ruth Langmore in the acclaimed drama Ozark.
Her other notable roles include the true crime series Inventing Anna, as well as the 2025 horror film Weapons.

Another key player in Grandma is the renowned actor Sam Elliott, known for his stern and straightforward portrayal of Shea Brennan in the Yellowstone spin-off 1883.
He has also appeared in A Star is Born alongside Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, The Ranch, and Landman on Paramount+ with Billy Bob Thornton.
The film Grandma has been receiving accolades for years, with many viewers praising its “utter frankness, humour and intelligence”, wihile others have described it as “gutwrenching”.
One viewer commented: “Grandma is wickedly funny, emotionally intelligent and also very brave.” Claiming it to be “Sam Elliott’s best performance ever”, another fan added: “Sam Elliott was just amazing in this!”.
