EastEnders spoilers reveal Harry Mitchell to overdose as popular couple breakup after proposal

EastEnders spoilers have revealed that Harry Mitchell is set to suffer an overdose as a popular couple break up following a proposal.

It’s been a rough year for Harry on the BBC soap, who has gone through one of the tougher periods a Walford resident has had to endure. Played by Elijah Holloway, the character was introduced alongside his dad Teddy and brother Barney last year.

Prior to his current storyline, Harry has learned that his brother is actually his half-brother due to Nicola Mitchell cheating on Teddy with Zach Hudson. On top of that after years of searching for his girlfriend Shireen Bashar, it emerged that Nicola killed her and buried her in an industrial site.

Struggling to find his place in Albert Square, Harry began working for drug dealer Ravi Gulati, who also hired Okie. Harry was held captive by the duo for over a month after he attempted to expose their illegal business.

While being held in captivity, where Okie lied and said his girlfriend Gina Knight was now seeing him, Harry turned to drugs in an attempt to escape his reality. Eventually being freed thanks to his best friend Kojo Asare, Harry accidentally killed Okie earlier in the month when they battled for a knife.

In spite of wanting to turn himself in and do the right thing, Harry was devastated to learn that his dad has decided to take the fall for the murder. Heading into the Christmas season, it doesn’t look like things will improve for him any time soon.

On Monday, December 8, Nicola worries about Harry when he asks her for money to buy drugs, but she refuses and decides to withhold information about Teddy’s trial to avoid upsetting him further. George Knight checks in on Harry, but he accidentally reveals that Teddy is pleading guilty, causing him to spiral and reveal that he killed Okie. George convinces Harry to turn himself into the police, but Nicola arrives and tells George she is pregnant with his child in an attempt to stop her son.

The episode will also mark Sam Mitchell’s return after nearly two years away from Walford, and it doesn’t take her long to cause trouble as she heads to No.55 to steal money from her brother Phil’s safe. Nigel Bates lets Sam take the funds, having mistaken her identity for his daughter Clare.

Zoe Slater seeks out Sam in the Square to face off with her ex-accomplice and accuses her of being responsible for her taunting, but Sam denies it. Realising the funds are missing, and following Nigel’s description, Phil heads to Harry’s Barn to accuse Nicola of stealing from him but he soon realises Sam is the culprit when he spots her in a tense conversation with Kat in the Square.

Sam slips away before Phil can catch up with her and heads to takeaway McClunky’s to meet Ricky, but Jack Branning spots their clandestine meet. Sam attempts to leave Walford, but Jack intervenes and is shocked when she reveals the truth about her health.

As this is happening, Kim Fox drowns her sorrows in The Vic following her breakup with Howie Danes, who proposed to her the week prior, and offers to sell her car for Yolande Trueman’s Christmas raffle. Elsewhere, Kat worries about Zoe and warns Anthony Trueman away from her daughter when she learns the truth behind Anthony’s marriage breakup.
