cobbles farewell Coronation Street cast arrive at filming as Daniel Brocklebank is killed off as vicar Billy
A HOST of Coronation Street stars were seen donning all-black as they arrived on-set following their co-star Daniel Brocklebank’s gripping exit storyline.
Back in July, we revealed the actor, who plays much-loved vicar Billy Mayhew, would meet his maker in “explosive” scenes – with no way back for his return.

He had been a familiar face on the Coronation Street cobbles for the past 11 years, and at the heart of many key storylines.
Yet in a shock move, which comes amid a host of cast exits and a cash crisis at the soap, he was told he was being written out of the soap earlier this year at the end of his current contract.
ITV cast members including Catherine Tyldesley, who plays Eva Price, and Jennie McAlpine, who plays Fiz Brown, were seen flashing a smile as they arrived for filming in the aftermath.
They were clad in red ITV Studios puffer jackets to keep warm as they headed outdoors.
Jimmi Harkishin, who plays Dev Alahan, was seen giggling as his on-screen daughter Asha, played by Tanisha Gorey, clung onto his arm.
She braved the Manchester chill with a pair of beige ear muffs while Elle Mulvaney, who plays Amy Barlow, crossed her arms over her body in an attempt to keep warm.
Jane Hazelgrove who plays Bernie Winter, arrived clad with tote shopping bags while Jodie Prenger, who takes on the role of Glenda Shuttleworth, still had her rollers in.
Later in the morning, Jennie was seen picking up take-out coffee while James Cartwright, who plays Theo Silverton, burst into a fit of laughter.
Despite their cheeriness, they were headed away from the traditional Corrie set to film scenes for Billy’s funeral.
A source previously told The Sun of Billy’s exit plot.
They said: “Corrie bosses are busy plotting how to kill off Billy, having decided to axe Daniel earlier this year.
“There aren’t any plans to bring him back onto the soap so it makes sense make his exit the most impactful and explosive it can be.
“It’s likely Billy will be a focus point of the Christmas/New Year storylines, with fans expected to be at the edge of their seats in the run-up.”
