Rachel Faces Reality After Sending Sarah to the Hospital, and Marlena’s Health Takes Another Turn

Belle checks in with Kayla, but Marlena’s Lyme disease results aren’t back yet. Back in her room, EJ drops in on Marlena, who’s reading the

news about Kristen’s prison break. As she goes off, worrying about what Kristen will do and what will happen with Rachel, Kayla and Belle pop in.

Days of Our Lives

Marlena and EJ promise nothing is going on, and once he leaves, Kayla and Belle tell Marlena she can probably come home for Thanksgiving. Belle heads back out to the reception area, spots EJ and demands to know what was really going on with her mom.

Days of Our Lives Review for the Week of 1-09-23: Some Things Can't Be Fixed - TV Fanatic

As Sarah gasps for air, Rachel watches in horror, remembering shooting EJ. Brady sticks Sarah with her epipen and Rachel apologizes before running towards the door. Javi shows up, says Sarah’s stable and fine, then takes her to the hospital. Brady turns to glare at Rachel.

Once they all get to the hospital, Rachel sees EJ and Belle and runs off to the bathroom, with Brady following. That gives EJ the opportunity to ditch Belle without answering.

Will Rachel Tell Brady the Truth?
Back from the bathroom, Brady sits and demands to know what Rachel did. She knew exactly what she was doing, didn’t she? “It was only a little bit! I didn’t think anything bad would happen!” Uh huh. She feels horrible and asks if Sarah will die, but Brady says he doesn’t know. Despite the fact that Javi said she was stable after the epipen…

Kayla checks in to say that after more epinephrine, Sarah’s stable now. (Again, see above.) Kayla and Belle go back to check on Marlena, so Brady points out to Rachel that she could have murdered Sarah. Why would she want to do that?

“Because I’m a bad person.” Brady tries telling her she isn’t, despite all the evidence to the contrary, but Rachel insists he doesn’t know everything.

Has Leo Really Moved On?
Leo happily greets Gwen in the square, but disappoints her with the news that he’s turning down her offer to go find Dimitri. He’s happy with Javi — and busy covering all the juicy DiMera drama.

Gwen downplays it all, saying she hasn’t heard anything living at the mansion, and tries pushing Leo back towards their ex. He resists, so she pushes him to get closure for both of them. That doesn’t work either, and Leo leaves her, insisting he’s done with Dimitri.

He gets home, munches down on some pistachios (is Big Pistachio sponsoring these episodes?) and Javi tells Leo about Sarah. They move on fast enough to talk about their day, which ends with Leo telling Javi he has no desire to look for Dimitri — and it’s not because he’s worried about seeing his ex. He’s moved on and he’s happy because of Javi and won’t jeopardize things.

In the Show’s Final Moments
Gwen and EJ trade not-so-friendly barbs back home at the mansion, where she breaks the news that her attempt to send Leo away didn’t work. But the good news is, he’s obsessed with Kristen and Tony, so he’s forgotten the lab and EJ. That’s not good enough for EJ, who lists off his litany of problems, telling Gwen that if she’s wrong about Leo, his siblings won’t be the only ones who go missing.

Marlena’s heart is racing by the time Kayla and Belle get back, so Kayla consults with the cardiologist and breaks the news that they have to implant a temporary pacemaker, stat. Marlena promises Belle that this is all going to be OK. Kayla then goes to check on Sarah to tell her she had an allergic reaction to pistachio ice cream. Sarah’s so confused, but her mom’s on the way.

Brady asks Rachel what else she did, and the kid just looks off into the distance. Finally, she answers. “Mommy didn’t shoot Uncle EJ. I did.” Brady’s stunned.
