EastEnders teases “brilliant” love triangle ahead of Vicki Fowler twist

EastEnders fans were shocked this week when it was confirmed that Vicki Fowler will share a kiss with Zack Hudson, as they are both kind of related due to being Sharon Watts’ half-siblings (adoptive, in Vicki’s case).

While viewers might think this is the craziest thing Vicki has done since that time she had an American accent, actor Alice Haig is over the moon about the idea of her character being involved in a love triangle.

“The heart of the problem for Vicki at the moment is that she feels let down by Ross and believes he had many opportunities to stand up for her and make sure she was safe,” she said. “To have somebody fighting her corner, caring for her and looking out for her is quite a powerful thing.

“They don’t expect to end up kissing and they certainly don’t expect Kathy to walk in and catch them!”

She continued: “Vicki insists to Kathy that this is just a moment of madness, and it will never happen again but who knows?

“I think it’d be brilliant because Zack and Ross have such different energies and characters, but they’re also both really great men. I can completely understand why Vicky might be torn between them!”

The immediate problem is Ross Marshall finding out about the kiss, as even though he and Vicki aren’t together following everything that happened with evil Joel, it would certainly throw a spanner in the chance of them getting back together.

But if Sharon – who is currently in Florida – finds out, she’s likely to be furious as well, which is why Zack asks Kathy to keep quiet about it.

Of course, Sharon herself famously had a relationship with her adoptive half-brother Dennis Rickman, but Zack and Vicki bringing that up to defend themselves would probably just make Sharon even angrier.
