It’s exciting to see Kayce Dutton’s Yellowstone spinoff, Y: Marshals, take shape, but new details forecast bad news for him and his wife,

Monica Long. The couple, played by Luke Grimes and Kelsey Asbille, has been together since Yellowstone season 1, and they have remained united since, despite their issues throughout the show’s run.

 

 

While the original show concluded with Yellowstone season 5 in December, several upcoming spinoffs will continue the Dutton family’s story, including one focused on Kayce for CBS. While Kayce’s Yellowstone ending was a touching close, he will face new hurdles in Y: Marshals, including turbulent family matters.

Kayce has an exciting journey ahead, but it won’t include his wife, Kelsey Asbille’s Monica Long. According to the cast listing for Y: Marshals on IMDb, it seems Asbille won’t join Grimes in the new series, meaning that Kayce won’t have his partner by his side when the spinoff comes to CBS in 2026.

Alternatively, Y: Marshals’ cast will include new faces, such as two female US Marshals who will probably be a part of Kayce’s elite team: Belle (Arielle Kebbel) and Andrea (Ash Santos). These new characters will likely play significant roles in Kayce’s life, potentially filling the void left by Monica’s absence.
