engagement to a guy neither we nor they ever heard of raised eyebrows… and broke hearts. “I can honestly say,” Sami told old flame Lucas, “that no man has ever made me this happy.” Ouch.
Later, when Sami divulged her change in relationship status to ex-husband EJ, he couldn’t believe his ears. Marrying Dante Vitali, he exclaimed. “Are you out of your bloody mind?” Ava’s family, he pointed out to his former missus, are “mobsters, for God’s sake!”
Well, not Dante, Sami insisted. “He doesn’t know anything about his cousins in Pennsylvania.”

EJ refused to let it drop. “That doesn’t make him any less dangerous!” And what about the fact that Ava’s son raped Sami’s daughter? Dante had nothing to do with that, Sami argued. And he’s never even met Ava.”

Eventually, EJ found himself laughing at the whole scenario. He reckoned that Sami was trying to convince herself that she was over him by hooking up with the first “rich Italian stallion” who crossed her path. She might not even intend to go through with the wedding, seeing as the couple hadn’t yet set a date. EJ put the odds at “10 to 1 you don’t make it down the aisle.”
We’re hoping that they do — and that Sami has the ceremony in Salem so we can meet this not-at-all-like-the-other Vitalis Dante. Who would you cast in the part? We’re picturing someone like Joe LoCicero (ex-Vinny, Bold & Beautiful) or Adam Huss (ex-Nikolas, General Hospital).
