Yellowstone’s Kelly Reilly takes on ‘haunting’ new role in thrilling Sky crime drama

Yellowstone star Kelly Reilly is set to captivate audiences in a gripping new crime drama, as revealed in an exciting teaser trailer.

The British actress, famed for her role as Beth Dutton in the popular Paramount Western series, will share the screen with Trying’s Rafe Spall in the forthcoming Sky Original, Under Salt Marsh

A tantalising first-look teaser trailer was unveiled today (Thursday, 6th November), hinting at a chilling investigation into a bleak cold case along the Welsh coastline.

The eerie yet beautiful new footage offers viewers their initial glimpse of Reilly and Spall as Jackie Ellis and Detective Eric Bull, former partners entangled in their fictional town of Morfa Halen’s sinister past.

Rounding out the stellar supporting cast are Naomi Yang (Chimerica), Jonathan Pryce, Dinita Gohil (Treason), Brian Gleeson (Bad Sisters), Kimberley Nixon (Queenie) and Harry Lawtey (Industry).

The series synopsis reveals: “Created, written and directed by Claire Oakley (Make Up), the six-part series opens as a once-in-a-generation storm rolls in from the sea.

Former detective turned teacher Jackie Ellis makes a shocking discovery that reopens the wounds of a three-year-old cold case which cost her both her career and her family’s trust.

“Forced to reunite with her estranged police partner Eric Bull, Jackie is drawn back into an investigation that will shake Morfa Halen to its core.

“Together, they must confront a community haunted by secrets and fractured by grief, before the incoming storm washes away the evidence forever.”

Sky has promised the series “blends atmospheric crime storytelling with a deeply human portrait of resilience and community”.

Nevertheless, she’s set to return to the beloved character in a forthcoming spin-off which will explore her relationship with ranch manager Rip Wheeler (portrayed by Cole Hauser).

The upcoming continuation is believed to be called The Dutton Ranch and is expected to arrive in 2026.
